If McCain delivers exactly on what he promises, continuing the failed policies that have plagued our nation for the past 7 years, then I do have something to base my judgments on. A change for an indefinite better or worse is better than staying the course for a definite worse.

As opposed to the vague "change" Obama promises.?....I'm sorry but the generic ralleying cry of change is so meaningless it means nothing. Time brings change, regardless of who sits in the white house. GWB could sit there another 8 years, and things would "change". Change is as inevitable as the passing of time, so its hardly something to base an entire campaign on. Obama could literally sit in the WH, do absolutely nothing, and things would "change". Without specifics, the idea of change is generic and meaningless. As far as continuing the policies of the last 7 years, McCain might shre some similarities with Bush, but he's hardly the clone you make him out to be. He differs from GWB in a great many areas, and I honestly don't think his time in the WH, if it happens, will be identical to the mess GWB created. I'm not about to say I agree with McCain on everything, but overall, I'm far more comfortable electing him than I am any of the other choices.

All the times I see folks say that Obama doesn't go into specifics about what he would "change", I wonder if they have read his policy papers? Have they spent any time on his website reading his issues tab?

Or do they just judge from listening to his stump speeches? I've found specifics on a number of issues. I don't agree with some of them, but the specifics are there...

If the Democrats lose this election, they should just hang it up and disband. 82 percent of folks surveyed have said the country is going in the wrong direction...Over 70 percent disagree with our being in Iraq. Republicans are losing special elections left and right (the latest in Mississippi last Tuesday). If the Democrats snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in this kind of climate, they are completely useless.

Uh, it's pretty obvious that given these two choices - a candidate that's similar to Bush on a number of issues (and in fact is trying to make himself seem even more similar to appeal to the party's core base), and a candidate that's almost the polar opposite - one will bring more change to the White House than the other.

The two biggest issues of how this administration has screwed up - running off to bomb and rebuild countries (wasting hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of American lives without really improving the terrorism situation), and the tax cuts for the wealthy, are two ideals that McCain is behind. Our deficit and economy can't afford to help the rich get richer. Also, he was once an outspoken critic of torture, but he went against that belief recently by voting against the Intelligence Authorization Bill, which would have outlawed waterboarding as a technique the CIA could use. So where exactly does McCain differ from Bush? The only way I can see is that he's slightly more environmentally conscious. I believe he also differs in that he's more lax on illegal immigration, but he's flip-flopped on giving social security to illegal aliens, so who knows?

[edit] I just thought of one! McCain is less of a diplomat than Bush. I can't wait to see how he'll deal with that tempermental problem when he's dealing with leaders of foreign countries. You think the world hates us now? Put McCain at the helm and help our reputation get even worse. And if we're crazy enough as a nation to elect him, we'll probably deserve it.

The Mayans say that the world will simply cease to exist. The reason for this is.. Because McCain will follow the same failed policies as Bush. Year after year, our economy slowly starts to deteriorate. Finally, on December 21, 2012 at 11.11 a.m. All Americans across the once great Nation, slowly lets out a fart they have been saving up since the corrupt and hackable voting methods we use in the 2008 election was fixed. This such massive fart is carried throughout the air, reaching Germany in minutes, and all across China within hours. As McCain sat back to think what he should do, invade another Country, or simply sit back and light up a cigar. He decided to do both, Again. The fire from his lighter ignited the fart fumed gases. Thus, engulfing Earth into a ball of fire.

The country has moved beyond West Virginia and it's backwards racist voters (not saying all W.V. voters are racist...Just over 1 in 5 are...That admit to it).

Hell, they have the distinction of moving ahead of Arkansas as having the most racist voters.

You could say the same thing about those people who voted FOR Barak Obama. 92% of the registered black voters in NC voted for Barak Obama. Wasn't a number of those votes based on race?
