I basically do the same thing. I don't vote for the party, I vote for who I think will do the best job. That is a hard choice sometimes with what we have to pick from. I vote so I have the right to bitch. I feel if I don't vote why sound I have the right to bitch about who is elected.
An example of your vote counting......2 years ago a guy that was running for union president lost by five votes. The reason.......his shift didn't bother to go vote because it was their day off and they thought he would win anyway. How many in his department on his shift that didn't vote.........15 people all of which would have voted for him if they would have taken the time. Results.........stuck with the same fucking asshole for another 3 years.

This goes to show that your vote can get another asshole elected so your not stuck with the same one.

Some believe that the reason we are born into this life, at this moment, is to accept the challenges put upon us whether blissful or seemingly utterly unbearable. Our response (decision) to each of those moments is what defines ourself and our spirit through the course of time. I reckon that each time I take the easy way out or compromise what I know is right - in my heart - then I have failed to take advantage of that moment. As those of us who are older know all too well, the time we have in this body, that once seemed infinite is rather more of a flash fire.
When the sand runs out and we can give a nod to ourself that we held true more times then not then our journey in spirit will be well spent...

The difficulty I have with this kind of response is that it seems rather myopic. Opinions are usually diverse in nature. One can be, as in my case, idealistic and realistic. I have, over the years, worked hard to integrate both into my process. I maintain that idealism has every reason to be a part of politics, to temper politics' slippery slide into a so called compromise that maligns our dignity. It is a given that we all must compromise. The question is always, have we sold our collective soul to do it...

Hillary will say anything to win. I dont see how anyone can believe a word out of her mouth. She says some of the stupidest things and dumbest quotes.

Obama is 43 I believe. He only has experience running the Illionois ballot. He is a joke aswell. We have more experienced buisness owners then politicians.

But no one is looking good for the Republicans aswell. Ron Paul is the best so far.


BTW, If Hillary or Obama doesnt win presidency, They will call America racist and sexest.

It's difficult being put in between someone you don't like and someone you don't know. I have liked almost everything barak has said. Recently talking about hunting bin Laden like we should instead of Iraq. At this point Iraq is our responsibility and it will be monumentally more difficult to up and leave like we did so dramatically in Vietnam. At least his heart is in the right place. LOL. Pakistan has nukes and an illusory government so it's kind of a touchy issue to send a small force from a stretched military to hunt a terrorist leader and company without permission.

We also need to take into consideration, above all, something that our country really took a shit on in 00 and 04. You need to investigate who is getting this president elected, in our country it is NOT your votes. All presidents, even the good ones, have obligations to satisfy their constituency who got them elected. This is why you find Bush being so steadfast on many issues, or more steadfast at least.

I think it's too early for either of these candidates to truly commit themselves. Our problems now lie in a President who has a badly skewed vision of where and what America should be doing in the world. And according to that vision he is acting as he feels he should almost unilaterally. Now you know enough to know my two big issues:

1 - Where, how, why and all that shit about candidate's "vision" of America's purpose in the world.
2 - Accountability. The unilateralism in the Bush administration is disgusting and has been putrid since before September 11th. Do any of you remember the appointment of Jon Bolton as ambassador to the UN. I wrote my whole senior paper on that and the withdrawal from the ABM missile treaty.

We're not Rome; nor have we ever been. We're not the god damned Justice League either. The outcome of WW2 may call question to what I just said, but do you remember how and why we ever involved ourselves in that mess?

And as much as I like Obama just for being who he is and shaking things up - which god knows we need right now; I can't forget the benefits of having the Clinton's back in office. The international community loves the Clinton's and all they have done / will do. God knows we need to curry a little favor with the world at large.
