I'm surprised people around here haven't been talking more about this guy. He sounds incredible from what I've been reading, and not just on the subject of drugs, either.

Of course, chances are he won't go anywhere, but still, this is major progress.

I hope he will run again for the '12 election (if a republican gets elected now, god forbid) or if a democrat wins, hopefully the democrat (preferrable obama, although we will be fucked overseas, he is good domestically) can maintain 2 strong terms and then Gravel will be a serious candidate for the '16 election

He's doing what the other candidates will never do, tell the whole truth!
I admire him greatly and agree with most of his politics.
He will be labeled a crackpot and swept aside eventually.
We need more like him!

He's my favorite candidate at the moment, it's a shame he has something like 0-1% Support.

As soon as any (serious) candidate for President even mentions reclassifying Marijuana, he instantly loses all support from a plethora of groups that one needs to be elected.

It's sad, but true. If you guys are hoping for a vocally active "Legalizing or reclassification" candidate, I'm sorry (Genuinely, I am) to say that you're going to be disappointed.

Some are asking themselves... if any candidate who vocally supports changing the marijuana laws gets "disqualified" (and that's the best word for it really), how is ron paul still in the election?

Simple answer: He's not.

T, you might want to take a look at Bill Richardson.
He might not win but the fact he was among those allowed to participate in last weeks Democratic debate is not exactly consistent with one who has 'instantly lost all support from a plethora of groups that one needs to be elected.'

Now, if you looked closely, and we had to given the extended air time focused on others, then you would have noticed none other than
Dennis Kucinich also on the podium. A unabashed supporter of full legalization of the weed.

Let's count 2, thats two current Presidential candidates given prime time air time.

In my book that's one hell of a thing eh?

Nah what hes doing is ranting like a fucking douchebag and playing into the paper thin perception of the drug subculture as a last ditch effort.

On top of that hes to old and would be a death watch risk if he was ever elected and you damn well know it.

I'm not a huge Mike Gravel fan, but it doesn't seem to me that he's that old. 77 is... elderly, but it's not too old to hold office. Wasn't there a one-hundred and something year old klansmen senator that just died in the last few years?

He'd only be 81 at the end of his first term, which isn't that old. As long as he's healthy, give 'em a shot.
