Default Obama & Candidates my truthful .02

His Reverend is a anti-white anti-american. Obama says that he doesn't believe in what he preaches and he is trying to distance himself from the reverend. But the facts are that Obama has been going to the Reverend's church for 20 years and he has even baptized Obama's kids.

Obama is just a well spoken person and can handle himself well. People mistake that for leadership. He is just a young state senator on his first term, he doesn't know jack and certainly can not lead a country - especially this one.

John McCain on the other hand is the only candidate in the running that I like. McCain has experience. He has been in the military and has served multiple terms in U.S. senate.

Hilary Clinton? Don't make me laugh. She is beyond ignorance. I don't believe she is really running for President for the better well being of the USA.

It's kind of sad though. These candidates are pretty much, well, garbage. It's almost like a reality television show. I'm waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop out and say "YOU JUST GOT PUNK'D".

Please post your thoughts/opinions!

Thanks for reading.

McCain did indeed graduate from the Naval Academy .  894th out of 899 in his class. While his behavior as a POW was obviously courageous, it goes without saying that a military leader — or a President — badly needs something besides courage, namely brains. And a Presidential candidate who actually sings “Bomb, Bomb Iran” on a campaign podium would seem to be a little deficient in the latter department.

Would you stop going to a Church if your Pastor said God Damn America? I can see where he is coming from... Considering growing up in a majority White Racist country, and he was referring to the hate he saw in his lifetime.

Are you saying the majority of White Americans are racist? That sounds pretty extreme. No douobt racism is a problem that still plagues America today, but to say the majority of the country is racist? I don't think so.

I think he meant that he lived in an area where the majority of people were white, and racism was still accepted.

You're basing this on a few clips from our sensationalist media in which Wright criticized America for meddling in foreign affairs. Not exactly comprehensive, is it? Obama knows the guy better than you, yet you seem to be an authority on the subject with the way you talk. If you do a little research on him, you'll find that he's neither anti-white nor anti-American, unless you think that any criticism towards America constitutes as being anti-American.

Obama said he disagrees with SOME things the Reverend says. There is a difference. Do you agree with every single thing that every person you respect says? If so, I suggest trying to think for yourself at some point, it's liberating. Cherry-picking your religion is far from a new idea (otherwise, there wouldn't be so many denominations of Christianity).

I agree that it's unfortunate that people respond so much to what they hear and what they see. It takes more than making pretty, flowery speeches to be an effective leader. People see his lower experience as a good thing, though, in that he doesn't have his hands in the pockets of lobbyists. People also like his voting record and the ideas he'll try to bring to the table (such as socialized health care).

Clinton and JFK were also young presidents, but people still loved them (however, I'm not sure whether they had more experience than Obama, so maybe this isn't the best counter-point to make). Clinton made for a good president, I think. It's not at all unprecedented for people to see someone young and fresh that delivers inspriring messages, and to in turn treat them like a celebrity. Is this a good thing? Not exactly, a good candidate should also have substance. However, Obama has enough substance for me to think he's the best candidate out there. I agree with most his voting record (I'm personally against his gun control stance), and don't forget that being a good and inspriring speaker can help with diplomacy.

McCain also supports the tax cuts for the wealthy that Bush put in place and is willing to occupy Iraq for as long as it'll take. Not exactly great for our economy. Oh, and his drug control policy sucks, too. He thinks medical marijuana is a sham. Good luck ending raids on MM patients with that guy at the helm. I do like that he labeled evangelicals as agents of intolerance, though. If any of the Republican candidates from this race were to get into the White House, I'd want it to be him, so at least he's the lesser of the 3 evils I saw.

So, most of white america is racist? I can see, with an attitude like that, how someone can be so full of hatred. With that said, it is all the more reason for Obama to distance himself from him, not make him your spiritual leader. That alone speaks volumes about the character of Barak Obama.

You guys cannot ignore that in the early 40-50's racist did not exist. Allowing to sit only in the back of the bus. 'No blacks allowed' in restaurants, but can go around the back. I can't believe you guys would try so hard to argue that it DID NOT exist. And calling a guy a racist on a 5 second clip that gets looped for 5 hours a day on the news.

I never said racism didn't exist. What I thought you were implying was that you felt the US, or at least a majority of it, still currently holds racist attitudes. Yes, it was and is an issue, but to label the entire country as racist isn't fair either. I'd like to think we've progressed a great deal from the prevalent attitude in PARTS of the US in the early parts of the 20th century. I never denied that racism existed, but your choice of words was unfortunately not very clear. You made no reference of time, leading one to assume you meant current, as in the here and now....not60-70 years ago. And PLEASE, show me where anyone said racism didn't exist. No one here has said anything remotely close to that in any way. All that was ever stated was that we don't feel that today's America is composed primarily of racists.

Sorry for not specifying. Reverend Write was born in 1941. Considering I went to school and studied these years, I have a fairly good idea of racism in America. I believe he was speaking out against what he saw in his past. You are doing nothing but assume Obama is racist.

So Obamas kids are racist as well?
