OH:Naperville man accused of hauling marijuana in Ohio

7.o4/o8/Chicago Tribune A Naperville man is being held in Ohio in lieu of $2 million bail, accused of carrying 104 pounds of marijuana in his car, officials said Thursday.

Erjon Ruci, 28, of the 1500 block of Queensgreen Circle was stopped Tuesday by troopers on the Ohio Turnpike in Maumee, a suburb of Toledo, for alleged improper lane changes, according to a statement issued by the state patrol.

After a police dog indicated the presence of drugs in Ruci's Mercury Grand Marquis, the trooper searched the vehicle and discovered the cache of marijuana, the statement said.

Ruci appeared Thursday in Maumee Municipal Court, where a judge scheduled a preliminary hearing for Wednesday and continued Ruci's $2 million bail.

To be released, Ruci would have to post the full $2 million instead of the usual 10 percent, a court official said.

His lawyer, Mark Jacobs, of Toledo, declined to comment on the case.
