Officers in PSL seize marijuana, pill, arrest 4 in 3 unrelated cases
By Will Greenlee staff writer
February 6, 2004

PORT ST. LUCIE — Two search warrants and a traffic stop — all unrelated — netted police four arrests, more than a pound of pot and a prescription pill, according to police and reports obtained Thursday.

The most recent bust happened about 9:20 p.m. Wed- nesday when investigators executed a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of Del Rio Boulevard.

Police found about 4 ounces of marijuana in a safe, arresting John David Foley, 25, and friend Richard Cupani, 45, who recently moved in from Sarasota.

Less than an hour earlier, police stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Southeast Port St. Lucie Boulevard and smelled a "heavy odor" of marijuana.

Thomas Robert Schuck, 26, of Fort Pierce was sitting on more than a pound of marijuana. Schuck, who faces two felony drug charges, said he bought the pot in the Fort Lauderdale area, but wouldn't be more specific.

On Tuesday, police searched the home of Erick Gustavo Rodas, 29, in the 600 block of Southwest Branford Road. Investigators found eight pot plants and alleged Rodas tried to destroy evidence by stuffing marijuana down the garbage disposal.

Sgt. Todd Schrader said police had recently arrested Rodas, who reportedly sold drugs to an undercover officer at a local convenience store.

"He'd made his closet into a grow room," Schrader said. "They were smaller plants, so he was starting up his operation." Schrader said Rodas and Foley aren't "major dealers, but they're neighborhood problems."

Oooh, they found a whole prescription pill. They put that in the title and then never mention who they got the pill off of. And if it was a prescription pill, so what? Turning the news into propaganda again making it sound worse than it is. What heros, they busted some real bad dudes. I agree Mama Budz, total waste of taxpayers' money going into the law enforcement coffers so they can bust more bad dudes and ruin more lives.

I certainly feel safer with these animals off the streets.

Now if only they could do something about all those unsolved rapes, murders, robberies, burglaries, hit and runs, drive bys, etc., etc.
