Ten schoolteachers have been taken to hospital after eating a cake laced with cannabis.

It had been left in the staffroom of the Herder Grammar School in Lueneburg, Germany.

Staff said they were not suspicious of the cake because they had been running a scheme where students could leave cakes in the staff room.

Teachers would then leave donations if they liked the cake and the money went towards a children's charity in Chernobyl.

Teachers tucked into it during the lunchtime break, and it was only when almost all of the gateau had been eaten they started to feel ill.

Ten of the school's 65 teachers had to be taken to local hospital where doctors carried out drugs tests and confirmed they had consumed cannabis.

Local police said the cake is being examined by forensic experts.

Personally, I do not find eating cannabis vary palletable, but I know people who bake with it so that they dont have to smoke it.

It doesnt take alot to create a noticable difference in the taste and texture, eating it was something I still had to work at(It coulda been the cookie itself that was mildy palletable).

I can't help but wonder if 'feeling ill' wasn't confused with unexpectedly feeling different, componded by a group fear/hype scenario. Then again, the cake could of had some other caustic ingrediant.

The point is, just because the cake had cannabis in it, the cannabis is not necessarily the culprit here. The forensics/jury is still out.

Forensic Experts?

It may have been a bad thing to do, that seems sort of extreme. Well, maybe not too extreme, but a simple questioning would probaly yield the same results without a waste of the apparently low rescources.
