Below you will find a message from Mitch Earleywine, Ph.D., who is a
distinguished member of NORML’s advisory board. Dr. Earleywine is
currently working on an important research project designed to examine the
user patterns of some marijuana smokers. Research like this can help shed
much needed light on the many myths which surround marijuana.


He is currently seeking volunteers to answer an anonymous online survey,
and it is something that NORML supporters may be interested in. More

Hello NORML Supporters:

I'm Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Southern
California and author of 'Understanding Marijuana' (Oxford University
Press, 2002). The following survey is designed to assess correlates of
cannabis use, so we need users and non users.

Please help science and get a chance at a $500, $250 or $100 prize by
completing the following survey. It takes 20-30 minutes and does ask about
your personal habits, but all answers are completely confidential. After
the prizes are awarded the answers will be completely anonymous. Users and
non-users will participate, so filling it out is no evidence of any
specific behavior. Feel free to pass this link to your friends and

I noticed on the first page it said if you need to quit in the middle, you could come back and resume it later, thought that was a bit strange considering the anonymous nature if it, but I'll still take it... Where did I put that extra half an hour?

Just took this survey, some of the questions seem a bit ambiguous, and are hard to answer without context, but I hope it helps the powers that be understand the average user. Not like anyone with any real authority will even acknowlege it's results unless it sheds a bad light on us.

I did not offer my e-mail address at the end, cause money don't mean $#!7 to me, it grows on evil trees, breaks up families, it's more like a disease cause it's tension, did I mention, it's the governments invention... Dollar dollar bill y'all --KMK

The survey, unfortunately, is completely worthless. It's way too easy to fake the results, as anyone can just take the survey, answering however he or she wishes, clean the browser/cookie cache, reset their IP (it isn't hard, especially for dialup) and take it again. I took it because I could use the money.. though as I was entering my email addy, my browser crashed. Oh well.
