Medical marijuana test inhaler

An inhaler that dispenses medical marijuana in mist form (mainly aimed at MS sufferers) is in the final stages of testing (but UK Department of Health). The inhaler is called Savitex.

Savitex (made by GW Pharmaceuticals, UK company) aims to sell the inhaler in W Europe, the Commonwealth and eventually the USA.

It will be the first prescription for a real marijuana product ever.

In the UK there are about 110,000 MS (multiple sclerosis) sufferers.

While there is general approval in the UK for the use of marijuana for MS sufferers, some say that by allowing a prescription drug like this onto the market it will be more difficult to stop MS sufferers from growing or buying marijuana for their own use.

Over 2.5 million people in the world suffer from MS (400,000 in USA). It is a chronic disease which can result in speech defects and loss of muscle coordination.

Savitex uses distilled marijuana. The plants are grown in the South of England (under government supervision).

According to trial results by the UK Medicines and Health Care Products Regulatory Agency (with a small group), Savitex relieves muscle and headache pain (in MS patients).

The patient sprays the product under the tongue. Absorbtion is fast and relief swift. The spray contains all the plant’s pain-relieving properties.

There are other marijuana-related painkillers. However, unlike Savitex, they contain synthetic versions of some of the plant’s ingredients (not all).

If the patient takes the prescribed dose, he/she will not get the mild euphoria associated with recreational uses of marijuana (will not get stoned).

There is no guarantee, however, that people will not overdose to get a high.

I am not quite sure, but my gut reaction was "I'll bet Rene Boje" knows..." I saw a POT-TV program once where she and cici the Dancing Chef made "tintures" and such from the Herb.

I'd like to know more about the cannabis strain used, and if any study was done on different kinds of strain and how they help or contribute. Are they using hybrids, or pure indicas or pure sativas. Different strains have different properties. Also, which parts of the plant have been removed?

so what they're saying is it's ok to use cannabis as long as you pay a doctor for the approval and then buy their weed in spray mist form? but if they catch you smoking it... its off to jail for us? what a bunch of whores and i don't mean to offend real whores here but c'mon anyone else see how hipocritical this is? and i'll bet that mist costs a friggen arm and a leg to pay for too.they figure if you'll pay $300 an oz. you'll pay 650 for 4 fl. oz's.it's medicine don't you know.

Not likely.

There were cannabis tinctures manufactured by the major drug companies in the US prior to the 1937 prohibition of marijuana.

There were likely other countries that had similar extracts of cannabis in the past so GW is doing nothing special. They just have friends in "high" places that have allowed them to do their research.

hmmm, this could turn out to be a new "Healthy" method of getting stonned without hurting your lungs. but we already have vaporizers, but i tried 1 and it didnt work well for me. I still prefer my double chamber water bong.
