Marijuana-stuffed bag found on side of road

TAUNTON — A man walking his dog Sunday found a hockey-style duffle bag filled with 30 pounds of marijuana, police said.

The man discovered the bag shortly before 1 p.m. off Plain Street near the Berkley town line.

Sgt. Paul Roderick said the bag was on the side of the road.

Roderick said the man could tell marijuana was inside the bag because the smell was so strong.

Roderick said the man did not touch the bag or open it; rather, he said he returned home and called police immediately.

Patrolman Robert Kramer responded to the scene and retrieved the bag.

Roderick said there was an airline baggage tag on the bag with the name of a Raynham resident.

The person was contacted by police and will be questioned.

Roderick said some of the marijuana in the bag was in green trash bags, and some was wrapped tight into blocks.

Investigators think the bag was there only for a short time.

I'd probably get paranoyed, and think it was a copper trick or something. While I voted my consience, and offered to give it a good home, and while I'd rather reunite it with it's rightful owner, and while I'd definatly have a hard time turning it in, I suppose I'd have to find a nice medical marijuana outlet to give it to... Though I might have to liberate an ounce for a finders fee... That would get me by for the better part of a year...

Asscough probably smokes more than Logos.

Eventually I will go visit him and correct that. (Logos, that is....)

I knew a guy in college - in the early Jurassic Period - who snagged about 10 pounds from abale they found while doing some biology experiments way out in the ocean. He smoked a bunch of it, gave a bunch away as gists, sold a bunch and bought plane tickets.

Then smoked more.

I'd have pot for years.

hey. I live about 10 minutes away from taunton (where this happened). wish I snagged the bag.

my guess is that someone ripped off a big time drug dealer, snagged 5 pounds or so for themself and just turned in the rest to get the guy jail time.

30 pounds, wow!!! I would be scared to take it just because something had to happen for that bag to be there, or then again it could just be a set up from a cop. Been set up befor with a knife by 2 cops, all of them are durty, i know.

Me, I would have taken like a hand full and then left it there and The I would have called the cops.
