Pot rage by girl aged 13

A GIRL of 13 threatened her granny with a knife after she refused her cash to feed her cannabis habit.

The youngster fought with her grandfather as he tried to protect his wife — until he disarmed the girl and threw her out of his home.

Finally the crazed youngster hurled milk bottles at the house.

She admitted assault and was ordered at the youth court at Maidenhead, Berks, to be monitored for five months.

The girl had been put through a drug rehabilitation course, JPs heard.

[zombienote: Ahh....rebellious teens. They seem the same everywhere. This story has the lurid flavour the Brits seem to insist on in their kind of Reefer Madness.

I have seen this sort of child/situation - sans reefer mad propaganda spin - for many years. $10.00 says the child is "out of control" to begin with, the demand for money is certainly nothing new. But becasue the child wanted "cannabis" she is somehow exta wicked now.

One particular case I had was a severely oppositional 13 year old boy - very smart, but very disturbed. He often flew into a destructive rage when stuff didn't go his way. Once he even choked his grandmother while she was driving a van out on the highway....because she didn't buy him the expensive basketball shoes he wanted. (Note: She turned the van around and went to get his shoes - what does that tell you?)

Cannabis had nothing to do with him or his situation. It's called Oppositional Defiant Disorder and it gets to be pretty damn severe.

This story is just opportunistic propaganda and the Sun should be slapped silly for posting it.]

Worse than angsty teens, are mental illnesses. Teenagers who have mental problems and probably need a little marijuana to calm them down will be touted as drug fiends. They like to blame everything they don't understand on the drug itserlf, in this case it just happened to be marijuana.

NEVER trust anything that the Sun comes up with. Would any American take what is read in the National Enquirer to be straight from the horse's mouth? If you don't, then don't trust the Sun.

The Sun is the same publication that decided to put the headline of "First person to die from cannabis" on the front of its papers one day due to slow circulation. The whole article was a farce though because the first few words were "It is thought..." (The guy who supposedly died of cannabis overdose was an alcoholic)

So in short,if its from the Sun, don't bother.

I wonder if The Sun UK is any more respectable than The Sun we have here in the US. For those curious, The Sun in the US is about as believable as a Hollywood movie. I think it's shameful they can legally pass themselves off as a news source..

It's all been said...The Sun aimed to score sensationalism points with the middle aged, clueless about drugs crowd. It can't be taken seriously, as the amount of spin it puts on anything is horrific, and it's writers (I can't call them journalists) have a habit of equating correlation with causation, something anyone with any understanding of science will tell you is a major mistake.

Even thinking about this subject is a waste of time... But people should know NOT to trust the sun, hell dont even believe half the **** you see on cnn, light propaganda compared to the sun though.

Wether its posted in the "sun' or not is irrelevant. This kind of stuff happens every day. I work in residential treatment care for youth and its not uncommon for a psychologist or a social worker, or even a fellow frontline worker to blow something out of proportion after 'marijuana' is mentioned.
Some of the frontliners understand that marijuana is the least of our worries, but there are certainly alot of people who still believe it will cause 'DEATH MURDER INSANITY'

The problem, and why I posted this, was that when I did my search it comes up as equal to all the other articles.

WE know the deal with weed and propaganda, but the ignorant dont, and they are always scared.

When we post propaganda, usually it is ripped apart. Since propaghanda flows from those in power, they can - to parphrase Mark Twain - send a pack of lies on its way around the world while the truth is still putting on it's shoes.

The IGNORANT will but this magazine because the title is grossly sensational and in the space of 5 simplistic sentences reinforce the Lies of Ages without a tinge of balance or other knowledge about the issue.

And because we appear to be looking at a child mental health issue, THAT gets overlooked while people are ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the wicked little cannabis-crazed waif. The childs REAL needs go unaddressed. Once cannabis is mentioned, all too often the child will end up improperly diagnosed and treated. The cannabis is a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself.

It's classic reefer madness and absolutley yellow journalism. It was this stuff that determined the laws and informed this country for the last 75 years.

The hope is that the subsequent commentaries by regular guest and registered users serves an educational function for the people - and there should be many this year - who are seeking out better information of marijuana than is - clearly - available in the mainstream media.

And yeah...CNN is worthless. Im happy they played the MoveOn ads, but they are not the CNN I relied on a decade ago. (perhaps I shouldnt have relied on them then, but I was a lot more trusting back then...)

If this little one had been a shopaholic and needed soe new shoes would the shoe industry take the blame for this demestic uprising ?
Adictons come in many forms snd so o mental disabilities
Buzz words like canabis, hemp, and marijuana, are just those that creat hype and fear in the populus

There is more to this story than what is written. I bet if we look into it with a little more depth we will she a family history of abuse, neglect and incompetence. I would be a few penny's that this girl is from a home with alcohol or other drug abuse. Bad parenting is the problem, not marijuana. Marijuana doens't make someone get into a scuffle with their grandparents...an abusive past does.
