Doc isn't there a term, "fight or flight syndrome"? I believe there was an incident in Ohio recently that was possibly related. Even the most pacifist of people can be pushed into reacting. I don't think love and logic would have worked in Germany, by native amerikans (the k is intentional), or in countless other trouble spots around the globe.

There does come a time for stronger resistance. I think it is a complement to our movement that it has been as pacifist as it has been. The problem is we are now starting to lose our most basic of constitutional guarantees.

As for fire power, Americans own so many guns and assorted weapons of destruction, that an armed conflict could have a questionable outcome and not necessarily be a slam dunk for a government out of control.

I don't think it will ever happen here and in case you misunderstand let me say I am in no way advocating violence.

I am just making the point that in certain cases there does come a time for a stronger approach. It should just be in degrees directly proportional to the offence. I have been trying advocacy, logic, reason, science, and evidence for 34 years and the other side continues to get more restrictive.

The fact that there are a lot of people with the same frustrations as the new guy make it necessary that each of us work a little harder to bring about change.
