ASA is 2 years old! Help us launch our 'terrible twos', as we continue to light a fire under the feds - and come blow out the candles with us !!

We still have a few spaces left for our Activist Skills training on Friday and Saturday, must RSVP for hte training.

We are offering a free training to ASA activists who want to build their skills in media, facilitation, strategy and patient outreach

All events will be taking place at our office at 1605 Ashby Ave, @ California in Berkeley. All ASA members are welcome, but space is limited, so you must RSVP to hilary@riseup.net We will only respond to those we no longer have space for.

Friday, April 16
2 - 5 pm - Media Spokesperson Training
Come hone your message and practice how to speak to mainstream media more effectively.

7 - 9 pm - Meeting Facilitation
Learn how to have better meetings, by veteran trainer Daniel Solnit


Saturday, April 17

10 - 12:30 - Peer Counselling Training
ASA has spent the last two years creating political,
legal, and medical materials for the medical marijuana patient community. Since many of our constituents do not have access to e-mail or phones, we set up the Peer Counselling program to bring our resources to them! Come learn from ASA"s new peer counselor, Aundre Speciale, how to do direct outreach, resource-sharing, and organizing within your patient community. Resource binders available to those who commit to this project.


1 - 3 pm Strategy Meeting
Meet with other ASA activists and map out strategy for local groups within the context of the national ASA campaign strategy.
