I won't. Realeafer, you're an inflammatory troll. Screaming like some deranged child at a respected member of this community isn't going to win you points among any of us.

Why not just try addressing her rationally before you fly off the handle?

Wow...
I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but really, when you are handling guns, in a room full of children, its probably best to make sure for yourself that there are no bullets in your gun. Common sense no?
If the gun was pointed in another direction a child could have been killed

I also felt that the gun should have been confirmed unloaded by the person giving the demonstration BEFORE entering the school premises.

Bad form on his/her part

Thank God, what could have been a fatal mistake -- killing a child -- turned into a "News of the Stupid" and a very embarrassed officer will no doubt be living this incident down for a very long time.

Side note: Was at my local police station this past week...Didn't know that they actually offer FREE gun locks! Asked if I wanted one ...told them I don't have a gun ... I prefer that they have the guns and would they just come very quickly when I call if you please

...have a cookie

Hugz,

Default ONDCP targets: hispanic youth

" . . . the agent was not on duty and not there as part of her DEA duties. Instead, she had been involved with the Youth Golf Assoc."

from: http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/South/05/....ap/index.html

Gun safety presenter shoots self

ORLANDO, Florida (AP) -- A federal drug agent shot himself in the leg during a gun safety presentation to children in what police describe as an accident. His bosses, however, are still investigating the incident.

The Drug Enforcement Administration agent, whose name was not released, was speaking April 9 to about 50 adults and students organized by the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association, witnesses and police said.

He drew his .40-caliber duty weapon and removed the magazine, according to the police report. He then pulled back the slide and asked an audience member to look inside the gun and confirm it wasn't loaded.

Witnesses said when the agent released the slide, one shot fired into the top of his left thigh. The gun was pointed at the floor.

The agent was treated at Orlando Regional Medical Center and returned to work, a DEA official said.

Post hey releafer!

"You people need to get slapped from someone that experienced the 1960's!"
Perhaps I would qualify under your terms. I graduated HS in 1970. The first news story I remember watching was tha Kennedy? Nixon debate. I remember the Bay of Pigs and the Missle Crisis. I also remember people reading Mao's "Little Red Book" and believing the "Eternal truths of communism." Maybe releafer does as well. Especially the part that says in a communist state there is no standing army or POLICE FORCES. Aparantly it was believed once communism took hold all people would ALWAYS do the right thing and there would be no crime and therefore no need for cops. For those people that STILL believe that fairy tale, North Korea is still communist but who would want to live there?!?
My point is not to "slap" anyone. I simply wish to point out that even if ALL marijuana laws were abolished, there would still be a need for law enforcement. Remember, not all cops are evil and not all others are good.
It looks kike the cop in the story needs a refresher course on gun safety and it is well that no one else was injured or worse.
ps
speaking of the '60s, what do you think about David Crosby walking around with a LOADED .45 caliber pistol?
