My heart goes out to you HN. It's bad enough to read about this happening elsewhere, but when it happens on your own turf, it really hits home. This just makes me want to work harder towards legalization to stop this insanity. People swimming at a public beach shouldn't have to be worried about being swarmed by police with guns raping them of their rights. The only answer is to legalize it!

Yes you saw this before about 3 years ago. It was written, however, some years before 9/11. After the fall of the "Evil Empire" (Soviet Union) the US Military needed something to justify their budget. That is when they jumped on the "War On Some Drugs" bandwagon. Post 9/11 they have other concerns. You also made me check some of my statistics related to the number of Flag Officers. Per the following websitehttp://www.g2mil.com/tenured.htm) we have the same amount of general officers now as we did during WW2 when the military was 10 times larger (ie - 12 million in uniform vs 1.2 million now). So I was wrong, we do not have 2/3 times more flag officers.....we have the equivilant of 10 times more...lol...as there are 10 times less soldiers.
Basically the conversation with the DARE Officer, which did happen and I was the individual involved, proved that the "War On Some Drugs" is a JOBS Program for the Criminal Justice/Prison Warehousing/Substance Abuse Industries. To justify their budgets they have been lying since 1937. And Liers don't like to be caught. Not when their whole self image if of "Moral Rightenous" (spelling??). And people who can not justify their position with logic, reason and statistics use the tried and true method of SHOUTING DOWN their opponetes (yeah, I know, spelling). I can just see that Officer yelling in that guys face saying, "Are YOU CALLING ME A LIER!! (pant, pant, saliva dripping down his chin). They live on the taxes and suffering of the rest of us and they like it. They know the "WOSD's" can't be won..and they don't care. IT's their GRAVYTRAIN!!! As to the figures on deaths those are straight from the CDC, FBI & DEA.

Our police in US have become so inbred (ie - a very closed society cut off from the rest of society) that they truly have an US/THEM mentality regarding the rest of us. They are no longer Civil Servents...they have become Civil Masters.
The most powerful PAC in Calif is the Prison Guards one. They don't just lobby for better conditions and pay...they lobby for Tougher Sentances and More Prison Construction.
And yes...most people are Sheeple. As Hitler said, "How wonderful for the leaders, that the people do not think!!" Most of the Power the Imperial Federal Govenment has grabbed for itself is illigal according to the Constitution. Our founding fathers saw the Fed's having approx 5% of the pie and the other 95% decided by the states...oh well....
