Well, rest easy knowing that if that becomes the case there will be people like me out here refusing to accept that you should die over a stupid law. You may be content to be executed, but others will be taking action against the bad laws instead of shrugging and saying "Oh well, Plains knew the law. If he didn't want to die he shouldn't be growing the herb"

Here here...I agree. If they were to prosecute me for growing, I'll probably go down, but not without a huge fight.

Its all well and good if you know the law, thats fine, it may help you defend yourself from getting prosectuted, but knowing the law as wrong and especially knowing the punishment for such a law should raise your voice up against the wrong doings of those in power.

Default Ashcroft's Cock

This disheartens me because Oregon leads the way in every aspect of Marijuana decriminalization. Usually state police are told to not bother with marijauna use as long as it isn't in plain view.

It sounds more too me like Ashcroft has his 1" **** as deep up someone's *** as much as he possibly can without using his name. Ashcroft is in a ton of trouble right now, however, he is still doing asinine stuff. This is one of those things that has an Ashcroft print on it ~chuckles~.

It works like this Ashcroft: Govenor we are taking a lot of heat and we need some numbers. Govenor: My hands are tied the people of Oregon want Marijauna for medical purposes. Ashcroft: Well then I guess you won't be getting that 8 billion dollar transportation fund we discussed the other night! Govener: Well I'll see what I can do. Ashcroft: Make it big!

The story was incomplete for me. I needed more info to make an informed decision.
yes this is the law explained to me by dhs/omma and my Dr. after i paid my $150 filling fee and there is some co-op style settings providing disabled vets with the medical help there doctors prescribe.

gota love oregon i know i do

and some people who need lots of MMJ get to cards, or double card holders. one card is good for 7 plants 3 in flower and 4 in veg.

Pot Seized From Two Medical Marijuana Growers

U.S. Attorney Says Growers Had More Plants Than Allowed By State Law

June 3, 2004 | The Denver Channel

DENVER -- Federal drug agents have seized marijuana plants from two Denver-area residents who are registered to grow the plants for medical purposes.

Drug Enforcement Administration officers seized a total of 800 marijuana plants from three homeowners in Denver, Arvada and Adams County, U.S. Attorney's Office spokesman Jeff Dorschner said Wednesday.

Officers are continuing to investigate, and no federal charges have been filed since the plants were seized Tuesday, Dorschner said.

All three growers had more plants than allowed by state law, Dorschner said.

Colorado law authorizes patients to use marijuana for medical purposes, but patients and primary caregivers may possess no more than six plants and 2 ounces of loose marijuana.

Federal law prohibits any marijuana use.

[Suetaznote: This needs to be changed!!!]

Larisa Lawrence, spokeswoman for Caregivers for Safe Access, which serves patients authorized to use marijuana, said agents took 80 marijuana plants and 12 ounces of loose marijuana from her house.

She said she did not have all of her registration cards on hand.

Lawrence contends that she did not exceed the limit of plants she could have because she is a caregiver providing marijuana for up to 32 patients.

However, the state does not specifically allow for people to provide marijuana to patients authorized to use it.

Lawrence's husband, Thomas Lawrence, said he has severe back pain and is in the process of getting a medical marijuana registration card. He said agents confiscated about $5,000 worth of plants and equipment from the couple's home.

Ken Gorman, an activist who promoted passage of the state's medical marijuana law in 2000, said about 500 Coloradans have medical marijuana registration cards.

Agreed.

So does that.

And that.

Seems to me the feds are coming in when they violate state cannabis law. If they follow state law and the feds come in, that's when I start getting hot under the collar.

I would hope the lawmakers would take notice of this and make sure things are spelled out (regarding card holders and caregivers, etc.) in the future cannabis legislation.
If we keep tightening the laws up and making them ironclad, a show down will be imminent between states vs. feds.

Interesting times.

I agree with everything you said Plains, especially this. I think the showdown is already starting. We won the fight for advertisments on transit in Washington DC and the Federal court ruled in favor of hemp foods and in favor of medical users in California. We have a ways to go yet, but the showdown will happen.
