Im feelin your anger man but your gotta understand that bein downright harsh to the law isnt working and it never has. All the rappers and protestors who have came out and shouted, F the Pig have only ticked the law off even more and now there just gonna give you some crap and make your life a B. I would try to reason with the law and if they wont listen then take it to the next level. Stir up some controversy sure, start a movement, why not, but dont be hasty and quick to talk. You should treat a police officer like an everday human being. Not like some superior force who should be given great respect and special treatment but treat them like anybody else. Just be kind man. Keep it irie and mellow man.

Said the cop...Did you get searched when you went to high school?

Yes.

Were there dogs there that went around school and your cars?

Yes.

Did you have metal detectors you had to walk through?

No, they searched by hand if they wanted to.

Did you have to wear see-thru backpacks?

No, we were prohibited from carrying backpacks, tote bags etc. at all.

So don't act like nobody older than you never went through the same things.

school is a place for learning, to grow. But not a place to be searched by police and other authorities.Without reasonable cause the should not be able to search these kids.

I thought the police had a saying that went "to protect and serve". I don't see any protecting or serving there...

I thought the police had a saying that went "to protect and serve".

A few departments put that on their cars. For some reason, since the LAPD did it, people think that's some sort of national motto or something.

Not a single agency in the 5 counties surrounding where I live uses it. In fact, I can only think of 2 in the state I'm aware of that do.

Who do you think you are? The keeper of truth or something? You know everything now?

WHO CARES what your parents did or didn't do?!?! Unless they were in the same school district, their experiences are TOTALLY IRRELEVANT when you start making ignorant accusations that I'm either lying, forgetting or went to a religious school.

Your parents aren't the only reference point in the world. At BEST they were only attending 2 high schools. That leaves several THOUSAND other schools they weren't attending and have no damn clue about.

I went to a PUBLIC high school. The reason for the no backpack rule dealt more with weapons concerns than drugs, but it was a policy nonetheless.

Your baseless personal attack and insults are out of line.

I went to High School (Catholic) in the early 70's and I never in 4 years was ever even asked about anything I was carrying (and I often was). No search was ever done, and the worst that ever happened were a few fights and one kid who was picked on a lot called in a false fire alarm. The only personal rule was wear a tie. You could have long hair if you wanted. One hippie guy in my class had real long hair and one day he wore a "tie" that was clear plastic with live fish in it. ROTFLOL. But that was a LOOOONG time ago

Number one, my statement about "modesty" was more about the feeling of a right to privacy, and not in the context of "how revealing are my clothes." I thought I had explained that clearly in my previous post, but i guess it was misinterpreted.

You're not the only one who's been searched Niteshift, I've been searched twice and frisked three times. From my experience, the definition of a frisk is a little more than just sweeping up your legs, torso and arms, all three times my crotch got patted down as with one officer claiming "People have hid blades next to their balls before, shut-up." Who in the world hides blades THERE? Searching is even worse, suffice it to say, police can and do hand out more embarrasment than they realize.

If you weren't embarrased while you were searched or frisked, then congratulations, you have balls of steel and we should all applaud your superior control over your emotions. Keep in mind that your reaction isn't the only one out there, and it is definitely not the standard.

In the bigger scheme of things, the potential for embarrasment is a much smaller issue than the precedent being set of random school lockdowns and searches. It is a clear violation of constitutional rights, and should be fought with every resource available. No one in this country should grow up with the idea that it's ok and normal to be searched without probable cause or reasonable suspicion
