| Nine days after making the names of more than 47,000 potential felon voters public, state officials have scrapped the entire list, saying it was too flawed to be trusted. Which goes to support my question: WHAT SCAM????? Hispanics made up one tenth of 1 percent - this in a state where nearly 1 in 5 residents is Hispanic. Just under 17% actually (according to the Census). But tince ETHNICITY is often based on the CLAIM by the prisoner, that is bogus to call an intentional error. In 1995 there were 25,952 Marijuana arrests in Florida. In 1996 there were 19,426 arrests for Marijuana Possession in Florida. Drug Convictions in Florida made up 48.9% of 2001 convictions. So? First, in your laziness, you use 9 year old numbers, when more recent ones are easily available. Then you make statements about the number of arrests for possession........ the MAJORITY of which are misdemeanor arrests and have no bearing on the ability to vote. Then you cite the convictions for ALL drugs combined, which doesn't show the MUCH lower number for felons from pot offenses, nor does it seperate felonies from misdemeanors, which don;t affect voting ability. USELESS stats, put forth in an attempt to inflate the issue.
