| Ban? That's why this site is even here. People are still putting more up on this thread, I guess I can see why though. Lead to, huh? Sounds more like Legal drugs do that faster. It's really time, they need to change the laws, and stop this stupid war. ![]() |

| What do you expect? The guy works in the *treatment industry*, one that directly profits off of the promotion of these as addictive, and the promotion of all other things as addictive. Most folks moderate their habits, and I'm not just talking about grass - I'm talking about everything... The treatment gurus are the last people on earth to ever admit that simple truth. The work day is done, the weekend rolls around, the bills have been paid, the checks cashed... It's just a simple reward for the week, no different than taking in a movie, watching the hockey game or having a beer. That really isn't anyone elses business. The part that got me was "There are no age limits". Well, are their age limits for oxycodone/morphine/fentanyl in medical practice? No. If the need is there to alleviate pain, most doctors are compassionate enough to use the tool they think is best for the job. A hundred years ago they used to market a product called "soothing syrup" to use on babies with colic, "soothing syrup" was a dilute mixture of heroin. Did it work? Yes it did. It was the #1 choice of several of the top medical journals of the day. Skip the gateway drug, this is from week 3! Did it turn out a mess of junkies? No. (It also works better than what they commonly do today, which is antigas drugs, and a whole lot of nothing. Rough on parents, rough on child.) Medical practice changes with time, but doctors always strive to use the best tools they have available at the time. Marijuana is relatively benign substance, very non-toxic, rapid onset of action, reasonable side effects profile, and not dangerous to the major organs. It can even be used by those with liver & kidney failure. That's plenty safe. Would I blink twice if Doc Stewart gave marijuana to a 5 year old for nausea? No. Relative to the risks involved with long term aspirin use, a drug everyone has in their home - marijuana is safer. The general public might, but they are generally clueless. If they weren't clueless, people like the Doctor in this article wouldn't have business from terrified parents shipping off their 16 year old son/daughter to an 8 week inpatient brainwashing session. |
