CA: Marijuana Training Overflights Lead To Eradication

An estimated 139,000 marijuana plants were removed from Bureau of Land Management Lands and unauthorized grows on private land last week. No one was present during the raids and arrests were made. Training flights for other agencies conducting marijuana spotting over flights identified nearly 200 different marijuana grows.

County of Mendocino Marijuana Eradication Team raided several of these grows on Bureau of Land Management Land and on a Hearst area private ranch along the Eel River and removed about 66,000 plants June 28.
In corporate forestry land near Comptche, COMMET snagged more than 21,000 plants on June 29.

COMMET was called to the Robinson Creek area June 30 to eradicate a 52,000 plant grow by a landowner who discovered the garden on his property.

COMMET does not expect to have time or resources to eradicate all of the gardens spotted in the air, concentrating on public lands and unauthorized grows on private lands.

Yeah! Get rid of that feral hemp! Shit doesn't even get you high... Btw, there are plenty of weeds in the front lawns in my neighborhood I wouldn't mind police help with.

If no one was present, who conducted the raid? If cops conducted the raid and no one else was there, who did they arrest? Do you suppose the cops took turns arresting each other?

The whole thing is very surreal!

I'm glad they're not going to bother anyone who has authorized a grow on their private property. That's unusually understanding for the police.

Depends on how high they were I guess. Either that or they had a moralist rookie who arrested one of the other cops when he stood over the fire too long.

Imagine all the paper that could make! Or clothing, or any of the other 25,000 things you can make from hemp! And they have to go and destroy it all.
