I know the movie your thinking of but i forgot the name of it. Are you thinking of the one where those 2 girls met some guy they liked, he set them up, he put heroin into their luggage in a container or somethin without them knowing it, they were going through the airport, he then had them setup. Authorities were tipped off, they got caught for smuggling while he managed to have someone else smuggle a larger amount while customs was distracted searching them. They then went to a jail in thailand or japan, can't remember. They tried to get pardoned, one of their friends decided to take the blame so the other could go free. Not sure if that one was based on a true story though but i just remembered the movie midnight express which was. The guy escaped from the Turkish prison and managed to get over to Greece, he was caught smuggling hash through the airport, they wanted to put him in jail for 40 years.

It doesn't make much sense that this girl wouldn't let them open the bag by saying NO i have something! If anything all your going to say is no. Otherwise theres no point at all if your going to say you have something and then expect to have a search avoided completely! Your also not going get let off too easy by just saying no but really, who the hell is going to say they have something and expect to not get searched. I still can't believe some countries give life or the death penalty for pot.

Speaking of Hearst, the Patty Hearst movie was on last night, her grandfather Randolph was the one responsible for the pot propaganda. She goes and talks of using the editorials to get people to change their minds about her and saying how the media/press is a powerful tool to change peoples minds, then her father goes and tells her "your starting to sound just like your grandfather"

That was proof right there that the as*hole used his editorials to change everyones mind toward the legal use of pot in the U.S, then some of that b/s got to the UN and next thing you know people are bein executed or givin life sentences if not just a few years in jail for smoking or possessing a plant. All that for fearing production of hemp would hurt the timber industry. People now suffer because of 2 corrupt peoples lies to get financial gain or launch of career.

Now today here in the U.S we talk of moral values, Anslinger and Hearst were probably the biggest pathological liars this country ever had, they got rich and everyone else went to jail for a victimless crime.

If this girl really is inoccent though, it's still hard to say if she is or isn't but people have been setup. It makes me afraid to ever wanna leave the U.S in fear this sh*t could happen to anyone. The jails and prosecutors in these other countries are barbaric and the people within their system are more corrupt, maybe not all of them but there are a few and if your american you can bet they will play with your setence.

There is no rational reason Schapelle Corby would smuggle marijuana from Aust. to Indonesia. Marijuana is hundreds of times the price in Australia than it is in Indo. If anything you might smuggle marijuana from Indo to Aust. for a profit. Either Corby is completely brain dead or she is being a set up. I can think of two possible motives for a set up.
The first: corruption is fairly pervasive throughout Indonesia, it is a very poor country and police have been known to set up tourists to extract bribes, although I can't see that they will be able to pursue this course here given the publicity.
The second: Australia & Indonesia have a strained relationship due to Australia's role in the secession of East Timor. I believe many Indonesian soldiers and officials forced to vacate East Timor bear Australians animosity over losing this territory.
Both of these motives seem a bit too weak to me to justify the execution of a young girl. But I really find it hard to believe she could be so stupid as to smuggle marijuana to a country that executes people for doing so, and what's more the weed in some parts of Indonesia is cheaper than in Australia by several orders of ten. I hope the Indonesian Government exercises enough flexibility and sanity on this one to send her home, regardless.
