| Rohnert Park considers restricting pot clubs 4-26-2005 | AP ROHNERT PARK, Calif. The Rohnert Park City Council is considering whether to impose a temporary moratorium on the opening of pot clubs until regulations are in place. The City Council today will mull whether they should impose a 45-day freeze on cannabis clubs. That's similar to moratoriums enacted in Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Rohnert Park has no pot clubs, but City Council members say they want to avoid complaints they've heard of in other cities. California legalized medicinal marijuana in 1996. Since then, pot clubs have opened around the state. Cities such as San Rafael, Rocklin, Yuba City and Fresno have enacted permanent bans on cannabis clubs.
