| I would have to agree that if one is a heavy pot smoker and suddenly stops....there is a mild withdrawl....but NOTHING compared with cessation from cigarettes or even alcohol. In my case....I definitely did not sleep nearly as well....because I always had such damn good sleep after an evening toke. You should not take marijuana unless you can devote 7-8 hours of sleep. You should not drive or operate machinery until you know how marijuana will affect you. As with all sleep aids dependency can result....you should talk to your doctor about possible side effects....which may include dry mouth, euphoria, reddened eyes, sleepiness and hunger....sexual side effects may include increased sensation of touch and sensitivity.....though mild, they may persist and increase libido and satisfaction. Oh....I'm sorry I got carried away....just saw a commercial for another pill....Ambien...they call it.

| I smoke 3 to 6 times a day 6 days a week. Since last December I started taking one day off a week (keeps my non smoking wife happy and rests my lungs from the hashish smoke). I usually only notice a mild difficulty to fall asleep IF I NEED TO WAKE UP EARLY THE NEXT DAY. If I can sleep in, I just stay up till midnight reading the internet and then sleep till 9AM and really have no problem. I tend to dream a bit if I smoke or not. So I don't know what kind of percentage of people would get these symptoms, but I suspect it is small. The ministry of health here in France says somewhere between 5% and 15% of cannabis users have some kind of psycholgical dependency, but they do not speak of a physical dependence, and they are prohibitionist (they want a system of fines instead of the threat of a year in jail that the judges refuse to give drug users). So basically the prohibitionist govt. here in France tells the people that between 85% and 95% of cannabis users have no "dependency" problems at all. (And we have hash and strong homegrown cannabis here). |

| I would agree with what someone said in an earlier post. I smoke everyday some months and go cold turkey for some months. If I can't smoke Marijuana, the only withdrawl I get is simply wanting to smoke some pot to relax. However, I get these same "withdrawl" feelings when I miss an episode of Family Guy... |
