Default IN: Pair Accused Of Drug Deal Beside Officer's Squad Car

Pair Accused Of Drug Deal Beside Officer's Squad Car
Indianapolis Star | 05/25/2005

Elkhart -- Mike Swygart said he did not believe it when someone told him two men were making a drug deal next to his patrol car.

Swygart, a corporal in the Elkhart Police Department, was on a break, having a cup of coffee, on Friday night when a person told him what was going on outside.

"I laughed because I thought no one would be so foolish as to handle illegal drugs next to a police car," Swygart wrote in his report. "He looked at me and told me that he was not joking."

Swygart walked outside to see two men in a car parked next to the squad car, holding what appeared to be bags of marijuana.

"I opened the passenger side door and shouted, 'Police! Don't move!' Both suspects dropped the baggies and let them fall on the front seat," he said.

Officers detained the two men and reported seizing two small bags of marijuana as well as some drug paraphernalia and pills.

Just remember people...although some dumb people may smoke marijuana, chances are they weren't too bright long before they ever began smoking!!! I usually feel at least a little bit sorry for people who get busted, but the complete lack of common sense prevents that in this case!!!

Default this is a bit much

I have had my picture taken while leaning against a Chicago police car and smoking a joint while the officers were inside a restaurant. It was the only cannabis I had on me, the half of the joint that was lit and already in my mouth, if the cops started walking toward me i could have just walked away and eaten or finished smoking it, these guys had bags (plural) of cannabis and "pills" and did not think that perhaps the cop would come back and they would need to get rid of the evidence shall we say.

The weed IS EVERYWHERE.....man!
Suppose there was a drug-sniffing dog in the car while the cop ate his donuts and drank coffee?
That dog may have begun barking like crazy and possibly even shredded the squad car's interior....all to pieces.
