Default WV: Destroying Massive Marijuana Hoard An Arduous Task For State Troopers

Destroying Massive Marijuana Hoard An Arduous Task For State Troopers
Bill Archer | Bluefield Daily Telegraph | 08/12/2005

WELCH - While it would have most likely lasted a lot longer if it was torched in the illegal manner, it still took West Virginia state troopers almost an entire shift to destroy more that $21 million worth of pot seized during two days of marijuana eradication raids earlier this week.

"We started burning the marijuana at 5 p.m. (Thursday evening), and we were done at midnight," Sgt. W.C. Tupper, co-commander of the Welch Detachment said. "It was so heavy and green that we had to keep turning it in order to destroy all of it."

Tupper led an eradication detachment made up of troopers from the Welch and Princeton detachments as well as conservation officers of the state Division of Natural Resources and a helicopter pilot from the West Virginia National Guard who piloted a RAID (Reconnaissance and Aerial Interdiction Detail) helicopter on the two-day mission.

21$ mill, so according to police thats probably 2100 lbs, lol

I like reading all the articles that claim police can't keep up w/ pot growers, I hope that means the pot dealers are getting richer and able to plant so many feilds there is no way police can even destroy a fraction of their entire operation...sooner or later the cops will have to give up

Default Replace The Word Ardous With Futile

What a great world it would become if everyone arrested for pot fought their cases. With over 700,000 people arrested for pot each year, the states would simply go broke trying to enforce their ridiculous laws against recreational Cannabis users.

Add Jury Nullification where people on the Jury ignore the Judges instructions, ignore the facts in the case, judge the law, and hang the Jury because they disagree with the law, and the prosecutors would finally realize that smoking a joint is not as serious as rape in the eyes of the People, arresting people for recreational Cannabis use is futile, and prosecuting them is a total waste of time as well. All a Juror has to do is vote Not Guilty, no reason is required other than you don't believe they are guilty (of a crime).

Alcohol & Caffiene increase violence, Marijuana reduces violence.

Might be more to that idea than most think, even if they didn't plan to. I just saw a video clip of a reporter who seems to have got a little close to his work. Once I finally stopped laughing I thought of you guys and this thread
