From The Horse's Mouth: Marijuana Etiquette
Times Community News | 08/16/2005

Marijuana users have a set of customs and guidelines that govern the social use of the drug, according to local teens. These customs are known as "potiquette."

• The owner of the marijuana will not smoke in front of others unless he has enough for everyone with him. "You don't get it out unless you have enough for the class," said one Liberty High School junior.

• Sharing marijuana is common. Generally, a person with marijuana will share with everyone present at no cost.

• If any marijuana is to be sold to friends, it is sold for the same price at which it was bought.

• The owner will first separate the seeds and stems of the marijuana from the flowers, or buds, of the plant before sharing or selling.

• The owner of the marijuana generally would roll the marijuana cigarette or pack the bong or pipe for himself and his guests.

• Guests must never speak negatively of the quality of the marijuana.

• With a marijuana cigarette, or joint, teens typically take two drags and then pass the joint to the person on their immediate left.

• Coughing can either be acceptable or taboo, based on the company. "It's like cleaning your plate," said a Fauquier graduate. "In some cultures, it's respectful to clean your plate. In others, it's best to leave a little bit ... Coughing just depends on who you're with."

Thumbs up Why Buzz?

Why did you have to post this? They don't know that already? In the old days we smoked whatever we had. The only exception to your guidelines is, They should taste what they are buying, if they want to be sure.

Thay should read what is posted on the bottom of the article!

If you call them rules teens would probably reject them. If you call them customs or habits - just the way things are done - every social situation runs on them.

For example: when you meet another person you clasp right hands and shake them. Is it a rule? No. Is it a well-established social custom? Yes. It had a particular meaning a thousand years ago ("I'm not holding a weapon.") but now it's just the ways things are done.

Who the hell does that before selling? Buyers are paying for buds, they're not paying for shake.

Buyers are paying for BUD not stems and seeds, but that's really only a problem if you buy inferior product

Yes, but if you DO have an inferior product with seeds in it (or stems, face it, even superb weed has a stem here and there)

And you resell it

Do you break it all apart and take out the seeds/stems, and just give your buyer a bag full of already broken up weed / shake?

No.

You pull out however much weighs what they are buying, put it in a new baggie, and sell them that.

Or are you saying that you break up your weed for your customers? Cuz I would never buy from someone that did that. So let me know and I'll know never to buy from you =P
