ahh, very good points buzzby and king cola. It IS important to realize that 1. the government doesn't really think about what stoners do to other stoners and 2. That if it were legalized, people wouldn't be doing such a thing.

On number 2, and i'm not sure on this, but remember when alcohol was illegal? There must have been sooooo much crime revolving around that and this is what's happening now with mj.

But here's what i want yalls opinion about. If pot was actually legalized, would people start pushing for other serious off-topic drugs illegal drugs to be legalized as well? Does the government think we're being too needy, as they've already legalized alcohol and now we want to smoke our herb without fear of arrest?

One more thing, in order to understand the government's position, we must remember how much they don't want to take responsiblity for their actions. Just think about it, if pot were legalized, wouldn't they have to find everyone convicted of mj crimes as "innocent"? This seems to be a very time and money consuming process, that they think they can spend on George Bush flying over New Orleans.

The government doesn't care if we're "needy". They just want us addicted to the things that keep big business rolling along. If people could be happy hanging out and smoking a weed that they grow in their own back yard, would Americans would need a new SUV every three years and a new house every five?
