If you're under 21 that reasoning doesnt work, because if you're caught with alcohol underage you get in a crapload more trouble then if you're caught with weed underage...in my state atleast.

False. Far more youth use marijuana than any other drug. Among kids who use drugs, approximately 60 percent use marijuana only. This is a good thing: Ecstacy is a potent hallucinogen with the potential of producing fatalities. Marijuana is one of the least toxic substances on Earth.

QUESTION 2:
Marijuana is not addictive. True or False?

False. Research shows that marijuana is almost as addictive as coffee. In fact, more teens enter treatment with a primary diagnosis of marijuana dependency than for all other illegal drugs combined, generally as an alternative to jail and a criminal record.

QUESTION 3:
Smoking one marijuana joint is as harmful as smoking five cigarettes. True or False?

True. In fact, smoking four joints is like smoking an entire pack. Of course, there is no research showing a connection between smoking marijuana and cancer, the greatest risk from smoking cigarettes. Some research suggests that smoking marijuana reduces cancer risk for people who also smoke tobacco.

QUESTION 4:
Smoking weed only makes people feel mellow. True or False?

False. Marijuana can cause paranoia, panic attacks, anxiety and depression. Heavy marijuana use has even been linked with increased aggression, rebelliousness and violent behavior. In 38 years of smoking I've never witnessed a violent reaction with people using only marijuana.
Ecstasy isn't a hallucinogen and it isn't really that harmfull at all, only 5 people have ever died from using it. other then that I agree with you.

Marijuana causing depression, i see it as bullsh*t and so do a lot of other people. The people probably already suffer from depression and use marijuana hoping it will help them get over their problems. They might tell a psychiatrist that they use marijuana and then they go and say, yup it's from marijuana!

Just about everything i was going to say about what they said in this article about marijuana, buzzby answered it for me

It's true that people are considered getting treatment for marijuana because they get arrested for it and as a first offense they take a drug/alcohol program to have a clean record after a year or to keep from going to jail.

They always talk of people smoking pot being at about 5 times greater risk of getting cancer but if that were true, anyone whos smoked pot for 30 years would probably show signs of cancer if the chances are that much greater. Some people smoke cigarettes at 15 or 20 and show signs of cancer at 60 years old. If pot really caused people a greater chance of getting cancer they should show signs of it after probably 30 years of smoking it

They probably had tobacco users who had cancer, then they admit to smoking pot so they just say, yup the pot is what gave you cancer! I would like to see tests done on people who smoked nothing but marijuana for 30 or 40 years before they can make claims like they do.

They also say long term use of marijuana makes people violent. I know people who have smoked for long periods of time, smoked some new high grade strains, never became violent. I never became violent after smoking pot, my friends haven't either, can't say the same about people getting drunk off alcohol though, i've seen more fights break out at parties after people drink too much.

We have even seen on the show "COPS" or "World's Scariest Police Chases", people who are drunk arguing with the cops, and not being cooperative. Look at all the pot Marc Emery has smoked, i watched a online episode of pot tv when him and a few of his buddies smoked 11 strains of pot in one night. They didn't become violent and start arguing with each other. Whenever Emery was arrested he always went without a struggle. I'm only using Emery as an example because hes smoked over 40 strains of marijuana and would lable him a experienced smoker. I've seen my friends get drunk and actually get into fights with each other, never seen them fight after smoking pot.

"Ecstasy isn't a hallucinogen and it isn't really that harmfull at all, only 5 people have ever died from using it. other then that I agree with you."

(BuzzNote: I deleted an extensive discussion of the effects of Ecstasy. Such discussions are off-topic.)

I never bothered to try it and just stuck with my pot

Atleast marijuana doesn't do any of that except maybe make people feel good and relaxed after smoking. I admit that pot can cause paranoia and anxiety if people smoke more than they are used to. I had it happen to me a few times in the past but only because i would smoke with other people that would smoke pot all the time, so if i smoked with them i would smoke more than i normally would have.

Some people who don't grow it themselves or don't know the grower at all might be smoking some strong pot, smoke a little too much and think it's laced and by thinking that it would just make them more and more paranoid until the high wears off. It probably wouldn't happen if they grew it themself or knew the grower because they could easily tell themself that there is nothing else in it and that they are just high which would keep them calm and realize it's just good bud.

No one has ever died from smoking too much pot.

The effects of different psychoactive drugs vary greatly from person to person. That's why there are a couple of dozen different anti-depressants instead of just one. Usually a depressed patient and his psychiatrist have to make trial runs with several different kinds before they find the one that meshes properly with that person's unique chemistry.

I've known several people who quit smoking marijuana because it made them feel depressed. They weren't depressed before they started smoking, they were depressed while they were smoking, and they stopped being depressed after they quit smoking.

Like the above-mentioned anti-depressants, marijuana works for some people and not for others. Reactions to drugs, especially psychoactive drugs, are extremely idiosyncratic.
