When you go to most political candidates' web sites you'll see a bio relating their past achievements in academia, military career, business, and political office. If they have an advanced degree from a prestigious university you get the idea that they're smart, studious, and well-organized. If they're war heros you get a sense that they're courageous. If they attained high rank it implies that they have discipline and leadership skills. If they've run a big company you get the idea that they have leadership abilities and know how to manage complex issues. If they've served with distinction in elected or appointed public office it's an indication that they have some devotion to public service and know how to play that game.

I, too, admire her intestinal fortitude. Not having done something does not preclude being able to analyze and criticize it. If that were true, no one would ever talk about professional sports! There are an estimated 14 -27 million marijuana users in this country. We're not criticizing Nall for making the attempt. We're just wondering why, with all those potheads, we can't come up with a candidate more likely to impress the electorate with their qualifications, both for office and as a spokesperson for the marijuana legalization movement.
Very well put!

I don't tthink any of you know diddly squat about Nall. She is definitly an unknown.

I've read the stuff she has posted here (or had others post) and found her to be prone to hyperbole.

She also makes claims and never defends them when they are challenged.

She has been a member here for a while. She can whip out something prepared, but I've never seen her actually debate a topic. She tends to make statements and leave.

Like I said, probably no more than 5% at best..........we'll see if she even gets on the ballot.

At least shes standing up for freedom in one aspect, as opposed to a lot of politicians who are destroying every aspect of it.

Is she qualified to be Governor? Probably not. On the other hand, IMO most politicians are incompetent and therefore unqualified.

No not Texas... Hawaii! He lives here at least part of the year. Good ol' Willie. Does he live in Texas too?

She posted a letter that was on the website of the candidate who this thread is about. That letter directly correlated to the topic of this thread. Unlike your comment, which directly correlated to being a *comment removed*

It might be about the topic........nobody said it was off topic.

However the question MB was asked, and posted in response to, was about Nall's QUALIFICATIONS. A bunch of campaign promises and philosophy are not QUALIFICATIONS, they are promises and philosophy.

So, while they weren't off topic, they weren't an answer either.....which is what was asked for.

She does not expect to win!

Did you read the post about her goals? Her being qualified has nothing to do with her strategy.

People who put down those less educated, only do so to boost their own egos. They sense something lacking in themselves. So in order to feel superior, one must find someone to look down on.

Formal education by its very definition is knowledge hand picked by another human being(s) as the right knowledge to possess. Take a look around at the state of this planet! Seems to me we need to start looking at finding some alternative knowledge to impart on our youth.

Abraham Lincoln had only one year of formal (higher) education. Everyone he ran against had more qualifications. What he did was appoint his adversaries to his cabinet. You see, he realized they had the knowledge required to run the goverment. He had what it took to shape the nation.

No kidding.

Not at all.

I haven't really put her down, just showed she isn't qualified. I have a couple of degrees and I don't think I'm qualified to be governor either.

But at least if I ran, I'd have a few things to list as qualifications. The total lack of them is a glaring issue that can't be ignored.

She does not expect to win!

Well apparently, she does:

"She said she has high hopes for the upcoming election. "I'm an eternal optimist, and I actually think I'll win," Nall said."

"Nall said she has a decent chance in the state because of the uniqueness of her platform."
