| Man Buys SUV Complete With Marijuana Dan Fiorucci | KTUU.com | 12/02/2005 Anchorage, Alaska - A south Anchorage man who bought an SUV and found a bag of marijuana inside it wants the auto dealership to take the truck back. But that dealership is saying, 10 months after the fact, no way. The dispute between buyer and seller could turn in to a civil suit. The buyer, Bill Allen of south Anchorage, is talking about suing. In what he acknowledges is a strange story, he bought a used Ford Expedition from Nye Ford in the Valley early this year. He said it never worked correctly, and that the Ford service department failed to fix it properly under warranty. So he brought it to his own mechanic and got a surprise. That surprise was in the car's center console: a bag of marijuana hidden inside it. Allen says it was a heater problem that led to the discovery of the pot. His mechanic had to remove the console to repair the SUV’s heater. “Alyeska has a zero-tolerance policy,” said Allen (left). Now all Allen can think of is how such an awful surprise could have ruined his career. “I mean it could've cost us, cost us our livelihood,” said Allen. The manager of Nye Ford in Wasilla declined an on-camera interview on the subject, but in a phone interview he said that after 10 months, he can't take back a truck simply on someone’s word that there was pot hidden in it. Allen signed what is called a full-disclosure contract saying this was a used car and that the dealer could not be held responsible for what had happened to it before it was in their possession. Those responses ring hollow to Allen, who says thank God his mechanic found the pot, and it wasn’t discovered in some other way. “If you get in a wreck and you've got drugs in the car, and you got kids in the car, that can't be good,” said Allen. Allen paid $23,600 for the SUV. He says he’d be willing to sell it back to Ford for perhaps a $1,000 loss. Nye Ford says Allen has put too many miles on it for that kind of deal. They’re offering to buy it back at an $8,500 loss. That puts the two sides $7,500 apart. Allen says the next stop for him is filing a civil lawsuit. The marijuana has been turned in to the police department in the Mat-Su Valley. And Allen says he can’t in good conscience sell the car to some unsuspecting buyer. Who knows what else may be hidden in it. He wants Ford to take responsibility. Ford says Allen’s financial expectations for trade-in are not reasonable.

| LMAO....sounds like this guy wasted his money on a lemon, and now whats Ford to take responsibility for something that is in no way thier fault. Unfortunate, depending on who you are, maybe, but certainly in no way was this any act of malice on the part of the dealership. Can me a pessimist, but has anyone considered that the pot may have been his, and rather than be "outed" (and possibly putting a large grow tucked away soewhere in danger) by his mechanic, he concocted this story? I mean, its no more of an outlandish idea than that of Ford accepting responsibilty for a bag of weed found in a vehicle they manufactured |

| I'm a Chevy person myself... however, free weed is a big turn-on for most people. Haha. That's a great story and I bet the previous owner of that car is pretty pissed. |
