Cool Listen Tolerance...

"Oh Canada..." Just kidding.

I try to be as plain as I can when I speak, so read my lip's, papa, and see if you get it, O. K.?
If I thought he should die, I would drive up there and volunteer to put a cap in his ass. Is that plain enough for ya? Do you get it now?? Am I getting thru, Sir. Hello, anybody to home?

For all other comment's, please see my previous post, which I thought was a Jim Dandy, even if I do say so myself.

Default Huh... interesting, dedbr...

I understand what you're saying. I even, to a certain extent, agree. But that certain extent doesn't encompass how passionately I disagree with the entirety of cannabis prohibition. The problem we have is inertia.

Prohibition has been humming along for a very long time... decades, in fact. You cannot stop it by allowing things to continue as they have.... like excusing the kidnapping/murder of cancer patients as "honest people doing their jobs." At some point we have to protest. How will all these "honest" people ever learn the error of the wrong way, if we don't tell them? They have to feel it viscerally. They have to know that we are completely, one-hundred percent, totally, and utterly committed to this cause.

I agree with you concerning cannabis prohibition, but Steve Kubby has not been kidnapped....he is a felon on the run. Hiding in Canada only prolongs the agony. Come back to the US, get a good lawyer, appeal his original conviction and get on with his life. He knew that peyote and magic mushrooms are against the law but he had the stuff anyway. He is an educated man and he made choices and now he is living with the choices he made.
Has he tried Marinol? If not, it may work for him until his appeals have been processed.

Default Killer, I feel our conversations are progressing well...

Your civility quotient has jacked way up. I've been doing my best to be civil, too. Hopefully, you've noticed...?

So, here we are. Who's purposes are served by meekly submitting to law enforcement? If we say that it is legitimate to arrest people for private consumption, first it becomes legitimate, and then it sets a precedent, and, finally, it becomes entrenched.

But just because you tie down an unstable structure, doesn't make its foundation solid. Marijuana laws are illegitimate, always have been, always will be. I don't choose to disregard them because it is convenient or popular. I choose to disregard them, because it is my only choice, as a responsible, intelligent, careful citizen.

You don't have to smoke pot to be against anti-pot laws. You could just as easily not smoke pot while fighting for it to be legal. Its not your "only choice" as you put it. I don't think it would ever be legalized if there weren't millions upon millions of people disregarding the laws regarding marijuana right now, however that doesn't mean the people have to refuse to accept punishment if caught for breaking those laws.
