I don't know what "we" you're referring to but it goes without saying that the text was put there by a representative because they're the only ones in a position to do so. I said nothing about a "crime bill". I referred to the "criminal sentencing bill".

Quote:
If our representatives are too lazy or stupid to read the bill's they are voting for, then we need to vote their butt's out and get someone in their who can read, and really cares what he put's his name on, don't you agree?
No, I don't agree. State reps have hundreds of bills to deal with and very limited staff. It is a physical impossibility for them to read every line or even have legally-trained staff members read every line.

Quote:
It seem's to me that if a poor old pot smoker can read and understand the law and all it's provision's, why in the hell can't our lawmaker's?
You had one bill that concerned you. They have hundreds. Hiding provisions in big bills is a legislative tradition. Do you read every word of every bill that goes through the state legislature?

Quote:
And how stupid do they look for voting for something and then saying they didn't know it was in there?
About as stupid as someone who only climbs halfway up a mountain because he hasn't got time to climb to the top. There are physical limitations that we all have to live with, like there being only 24 hours in a day.

Quote:
And who's got the problem, partner?
Apparently you do. For some reason you keep trying to move this from a discussion of issues to a personal conflict. I don't care enough about you for that. That's not why I'm here.

Cool Nope...

I don't have a personal problem. Yes I do read the law's. All the law's. As a citizen with the "time", I believe it is in my best interest to.

I also refuse to believe that horse poop about they don't have time to read them. If they don't have time to read them, then who in the hell writes them, Buzzby, the fairy f*cking godmother?

Since you weren't "involved with the movement" at the time, let me tell you a story. It was called the crime bill when it was being run thru session. The law maker's don't read the bill's because they ask the guy who is sponsoring it, "What does it say?" He say's it say's this or that and you should vote for it. Our represenatives vote for it in what's called voting block's, meaning they vote as they are told to vote by senior member's, or bosses. They have no mind of their own, their told what to do.
It was called the crime bill because they were supposed to be doing away with parole, because it was a form of double jeopardy, so they decided to stiffen the sentencing law's in the state. I guess they figured since they couldn't re-sentence the criminals with a parole violation, they would increase the original sentencing so they would do more time, hence the name, criminal sentencing bill.
Medical marijuana was a trade off, pure and simple. The author of the law wanted to increase the penalty's for larger amount's of marijuana, and a backroom bargain was struck. If a half pound or less was made a misdemeanor, and that would include plants, they could look good by increasing the penalties for larger quanities and we get the medical defense for small amount's in our possesion.

Now, most people have no idea what law's are passed or even what they mean or who voted how. As an activist, I found out long ago that it's very important to not only know who my representative is, but how he votes and what he votes for.
Medical marijuana was an allowable defense in Ohio until some a**hole opened his big mouth and made a comment about it. Then the right winger's jumped on it with both feet.
"Oh God, they screamed, who voted for this?" We knew we were doomed as soon as the Enquirer printed the damn story. Why? Because your right, no one read's the damn law's they vote for, but we made a deal, we thought they would stick by it. We forgot they were politician's, tho, and they didn't want to loose their job's, so they voted it out. We still won a victory, because we get more decrim. for larger amount's, but the med. patient's suffer, but nobody cares about that.

[quote]For some reason you keep trying to move this from a discussion of issues to a personal conflict. /QUOTE]

I don't remember saying anything about your comment's being "bunk".
That sound's pretty personal to me.

Killer...

I am personally sick of new's article's that are biased as hell when it comes to marijuana. I've been reading this garbage as long as I can remember and the tone and quality never change. I could take the exact same information and paint a completely different picture. Hell, I could make the law enforcement officer's look as if they are to blame for the grow operation's because of their inability to accept the will of the voter's.

Mexican Mafia? Holy Freakshow, why not just say terrorist and just get it over with? That's just a catch phrase in California nowaday's used to scare the populace and appropiate more funding for law enforcement programs.

Anything else? You all hear them bell's ringing? Those are school bell's, cause that just where you've been.....

What on Earth is this supposed to be about? Double jeopardy?

Dedbr....you have lost your mind. Your bunker is low on oxygen, time to open the windows. Do you think for a minute that I believe that you read all the laws? Not even the politicians who wrote the laws, read all of them. Oh, and those ringing bells are all in your head. Your body is saying "BREATH DEDBR BREATH"!!!!!!

Cool Your right Killer,

I can't lie. We are still living in the dark ages and using candles. The world is flat and there is no way to reach the new world going west. Horses are our main mean's of transportation, and no one know's how to SPEED READ do they ,Killer?
School's back in Killer, and your hearing the bell's now, huh? Listen and learn....if you had read any law's you would know that a lot of the criminal law's are simple explanation's of the word's they use in the law's. That's right, definition's. That's pretty simple huh? Like a dictionary. We use those in school and stuff. To learn to spell and read and definition's of word's. Of course, if your smart enough to understand the word's, you could just gloss over the definition's and stick with the meaty stuff.

No bunker pass again, Killer. Ding-a-ling....ding-a-ling...

(Dedbr sit's down in front of the bunker and pop's a cold one...)

Don't worry about me, Killer, I get plenty of fresh air every day. Maybe you could use some tho, sound's like your kinda hot about something. Could it be the heat from your African trip?

Presented with the fact's, you answer with hateful spit that doesn't have anything to do with the post at all.

(Dedbr peek's over his shades at Killer....)

You are officially a non-entity to the Dedbr, old son, that is until you can resume posting something besides the bullsh*t you keep splashing us with.I'm gettin' tired of cleaning the outside of the bunker off......

(Dedbr pick's up the pole brush and continues cleaning the bunker off...)

"The plantations have been blamed for everything from poisoning park land with fertilizers to damming up rivers for irrigation purposes."

Can someone please explain to me how fertilizer is going to poison park land?
The imbecile who wrote this article needs to read the book on gardening 101.
Fertilizer = Good for plants

Fertilizer runoff is a major ecological problem. It gets into the streams and lakes, encouraging algal bloom. Bodies of water become choked with algae, fish die off, and the entire local ecosystem is thrown out of balance.
