| Man in pokey after reporting purloined pot Grand Herald News | 1/31/06 OREM, Utah - An man who called police to report the theft of a quarter-pound of marijuana was arrested when police recovered the bag of pot and then invited him to come to the Public Safety Building to identify it. Kory C. Tippetts, 18, identified the pot as his and then was arrested and booked into the Utah County jail for investigation of possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone with intent to distribute, police said Tuesday. Tippetts had called police on Monday evening after he returned home and found that someone had broken a window, got cut on the glass, and crawled into the house. Tippetts told police the only thing missing was the quarter-pound of marijuana he was selling. Tippetts also told officers that earlier in the day a man had called him about buying some marijuana, but he was on his way to work and told the caller no. Tippetts gave police the man's name. Officers found Richard W. Hight, 23, at his mother's home in Provo. He had a cut on his arm and blood-soaked pants. Police also recovered six ounces of marijuana at the home. Hight was arrested for investigation of burglary, theft and possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone with intent to distribute and booked into the Utah County jail.

| Wow, this guy must have been delusional and under the impression that he lived in a free country. It only goes to demonstrate how f***ed up the entire scene is when someone gets burglarized, has his possessions stolen, but ends up arrested. Well, I'm sure he's learned his lesson and will get himself a gun to enforce his rights in the future. |

| If someone breaks and enters into your home, you're not allowed to shoot them?

| It would be nice if you could get your stolen marijuana back. But we live in reality, not how things should be. Why would you go to the police and tell them you're doing something illegal? Have a little common sense. |

Without those special conditions it would be second degree murder or manslaughter if the person died. If he lived it would be assault with a deadly weapon and/or attempted murder. If he lived, he would no doubt turn states evidence about your dealing. If you went after the person who robbed you and shot him that would be assault with a deadly weapon and/or attempted murder. If you killed him it would be first degree murder. | |

| I dont know about the other states but in the United States Of Texas you brake in to a house you are dead and when the sun goes down the law gets really lose after all we do have the right to carerey a handgun. Anybody that is a threat to you or to anybody else you have the right to shot them we dont have to run away we can stand and fight back, brake in to a car late at night you will be shot. So if you want to brake into my house and take my weed I hope you have a will made out. Home dont play that. By the way how come Ted Kenndy can kill a woman and not do any jail time? Think about it what is worse killing a woman or somking weed. Free The Mind |
