Cool As usual Buzzz....

you just don't get it, so let me help ya out.

When I wrote this I was referring to the undergroung industry we already have. Not some pie in the sky new fangled thing that's going to start up soon. Geez guy's, think for just a minute. Remove from your mind the idea of a
horde of herb smokers running around aimlessly looking for a sack, then finding one on a shady street corner and getting ripped off. I'm not saying it doesn't happen still, but herb is a big business and is handled that way, not
with little kids on the street, but with middle management and boards of director's who plan things years in advance.
Lets put this in perspective by looking even closer. The amount of herb imported into this country every year is probably in the millions of tons range.
Millions of tons. That is not some mom and pop business, that is a major business operation, employing very smart people who are paid to deliver, not sit and make excuses. And they have a plan. A joint in every lip. More money that way. Remember folk's, this isn't a plan to be implemented, this has been happening for quite some time.

Actually, ded, you presented this before as "tell them it's as harmless as tea and alters consciousness the same amount tea does". Then, "Surprise!", they get high and love it and herb would be legalized. Nice fantasy. I took it as one of your better jokes. I had no idea you were serious.
Buzz...who turned you on? Who showed you the light? Did an overpowering urge just strike one day and you had to run out and get some frosty to lite up. Or did someone you know say, "Hey Buzz, you need to try this herb. It's not as bad as a cup of coffee and you'll love it. I bet it'll help you sleep."

Or, did someone hold you down and force you to inhale until you were stoned and then you found out it was harmless and started using it?

Never mind, Buzz. I think we all know the answer.

( Dedbr sits down and raises a cup...)

Tea anyone? It's as harmless as herb. Helps clean out the heart, too, I've heard. Hey, that makes it medicine, huh? Maybe we can get the doctor to write us a script for it and....uh...then we....maybe could grow some and.....maybe we could get some people to vote for it....yeah thats the ticket... Ded

Millions of tons.
Let's see...

One million tons would be 2,000,000,000 pounds. The population of the United States is approximately 300,000,000. That means, if one million tons was brought into this country, every man, woman, child, and babe-in-arms would be allocated 6.67 pounds. If we conservatively priced that dope at $100/ounce, each of those people would be spending $10,666.67 a year on weed.

Jeez, ded, you really need to put that bong down once in a while!

I was introduced to weed by a guy walking down the hall in my dorm with a leather mail sack full of lids. That was in 1967. If that was part of your grand master plan, it's been in place for almost 40 years and it hasn't been very effective. Marijuana use peaked in 1979.

tons was just wishful thinking. I meant to say lbs., but I guess no one can read my mind, huh?

My grand master plan? Nah, I'm just pointing out the reality of the herb business.

Marijuana use peaked in 1979? Homey, you need to get out more. How about comparing herb busts for '79 and 2005. Have they been going down every year since 1979? That would be all the proof we need, right?

Am I wrong in thinking more people are arrested for simple possesion every year? Seems to me that would be a good indicator of use.

Can everybody say New Mexico?
