| MS Patients To Test Cannabis The Scotsman | 06/30/2006 PATIENTS are being recruited for a trial to determine whether chemicals in cannabis can slow the impact of multiple sclerosis. Evidence has suggested it may relieve symptoms, but the three-year national trial will see whether it can slow the progress of MS, which affects an estimated 85,000 people in the UK. Research leader Prof John Zajicek said: "Currently there are few medicines which are effective in treating it."
