| Mothers and Even God Believe Marijuana Should Be Legal Denver Daily News | 09/24/2006 America will witness the end of cannabis prohibition once women and mothers organize and speak out (“Parent Group Announces Support for Pot Measure,” Sept. 19, Denver Daily News) the same way they did to end the original prohibition [of alcohol] in the 1920s. Another reason to re-legalize cannabis that doesn’t get mentioned is because it is biblically correct, since God our Father indicates He created all the seed-bearing plants, saying they are all good, on literally the very first page (see Genesis 1:11-12 and 29-30). The only biblical restriction placed on cannabis is that it be accepted with thankfulness (see 1 Timothy 4:1-5). It’s time to stop caging and persecuting responsible adults for using what God says is good. Truthfully, Stan White Dillon

![]() Religious folk: we have something in this country called "Separation of Church and State", at least we're supposed to. Your biblical arguments have no bearing on the law. If they did, all adulterers would be put to death and we'd lose half our adult population. ![]()

How many of our laws have a Biblical basis? Stan White is a Christian doing what he can to change the unjust Cannabis laws. Once again Buzzby does his best to drive off supporters that don't fit his concept of the ideal activist. | |

| Actually it's a weak argument. You can apply this argument to any other plant that has been banned or any plant that is deadly to human beings. Just because you like the conclusion of what someone is trying to get across does not mean you have to buy into their argument. It may be tempting to buy into it since everyone here (for the most part) favors regulating and taxing marijuana, but c'mon, the argument itself is crap. |

| Yes, but a weak argument to me or you, can be a very persuasive argument to someone with strong convictions. I will agree that even in that perspective, it is still fairly week, but it is also short. I am sure with a bit more elaboration he could have no trouble convincing some people, simply because of the use of scriptures. |

![]() When people use pro-pot arguments that are so flimsy it doesn't support our cause, it just makes us look stupid. My point about applying all bibilical laws if we're going to apply any of them is solid and unless you can refute it perhaps you should look to your own thinking process. Quote:

| Buzzby, do I read you right? Everyone who believes in the Bible is an idiot. Why do you castigate anyone who has a different idea on how to fight the Cannabis laws? Is Stan White hurting the cause, to the extent that it's okay for you to insult his religion and intelligence? I see Stan Whites comments in papers across the country. Are you doing as much as he is? Polls show that 95% of Americans believe in God. I would have to say that the majority of them believe in the Bible. How many people are you going to turn off to Drug law reform with your superior attitude and lack of tolerance. If you have the answers to life. How about sharing them with us morrons. ![]() Seriously, though, if you read my posts you'll see that I neither said nor implied that everyone who believes in the bible is an idiot. First, I pointed out that the Genesis argument is illogical because there are all kinds of seed bearing herbs that are deadly poisonous or highly addictive. An argument so easily refuted is hardly an argument at all. Second, I pointed out that the laws of this country are not based on the bible, so arguing that something should be legal because the bible implies that it's "good" carries little weight. I can support that by quoting biblical laws that modern people would consider to be totally barbaric, like executing homosexuals and adulterers. I have no problems with anyone believing anything they choose. What I do have a problem with is people attempting to inflict their religious beliefs on those who do not share them by giving them the weight of law. I also have a problem with people who believe without recourse to reason. They are easily molded to do anything their ecclesiastical leaders tell them is right, like Bush's Religious Right groupies. | |
