A homeowner in Gulf Park Estates was arrested Friday after local and state authorities seized 80 pounds of marijuana, 40 of which was delivered by a national parcel carrier while they searched his home.

Jackson County Narcotic Task Force agents arrested Donald Reese Jordan, 44, at his home on 3017 Sweet Gum Avenue.

Jordan is charged with two counts of felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to a task force press release.

If convicted, he could face fines of up to $1 million and a prison term of up to 30 years on each count.

A confidential source told authorities about the marijuana shipments, the press release said.

Agents with the task force and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics learned Wednesday the marijuana was to be delivered via a national parcel carrier, the press release said.

The information led to the Friday seizure of a box containing 40 pounds of marijuana. Agents then made a controlled delivery of the drugs to Jordan's home.

Agents found more marijuana, drug paraphernalia and evidence of other marijuana deliveries while at the home, the press release said.

Another shipment of 40 pounds of marijuana arrived while agents searched the home, the press release said.

Jordan is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. No bond information was available Saturday.
