| 15-Foot Marijuana Plants Found in Ohio County Authorities find illegal crop growing near Woodsdale. 10-22-`07 | WBTR by | Nate Fluharty WHEELING -- This was everything but a normal drug bust for authorities. Officers said they found marijuana plants that were about feet tall, but some were more than 15 feet tall. Officers from the Ohio County Sheriff's Department and West Virginia State Police responded after they received an anonymous call from a local hunter. Officials said the plants had a fence around them. Several materials for cultivating them were also found nearby. Some residents said they were all surprised the marijuana was growing was was so close to home. "I've lived here for years and haven't seen anything like this before," said Ralph Jorden, who lives nearby. The investigation has been handed over to the Northern Panhandle Drug Task Force. Officials are not releasing the names of suspects yet.

| Those were happy specimens. I would bet that neck of the woods could maintain a fairly prosperous hemp growing industry....if allowed that is. |
