Default CA: Medical Marijuana sales tax may end in California

Medical Marijuana sales tax may end in California
1-21-`07 | SmokeDot.org

According to the Ukiah Daily Journal it may be time to end sales tax on medical Marijuana. Last year, pot clubs were urged to get a sellers permit like any other retailer, but it seems that since they're selling medicine, they may be exempt from sales tax.
Medical marijuana dispensaries in California, including the two that currently operate in Mendocino County, may soon be exempt from state sales tax, said a representative from the California State Board of Equalization.

The regulations will soon reflect the change that when marijuana is prescribed by a physician it is determined to be a medicine, said Sarah, the representative, who refused to reveal her surname.
I sure hope this is true, I'm tired of paying taxes for my medication, when was the last time you paid $17.36 for a gram?

Never. And, if I could legally grow my own as medical marijuana patients can, I never would. It blows my mind at the laziness of people who can grow their own but continue to pay black market prices at dispensaries. At the very least, band together with a few other sufferers and grow it in concert.

Exactly....IF I could legally grow, I'd never spend another dime on weed (ok....I'd end up buying a few bags before my plants matured). But seriously, if you have an mj recommendation, you can grow. Why more people don't shocks the hell out of me

Hey there. My name is Smiley and I live in Arcata, in Humboldt. I live in a rather nice apartment, although I must admit that I Can't really grow any medicine here, even with a 215. The landlord here (as well as every other landlord in HumCo) made me sign a "no pot grow" contract, so I'm not gonna risk being homeless when I can buy my medicine legally, thank you very much. - From the Real World.

Default growing your own

not that we would do that, but even with doc's rec there is the good old dea,it's like giving a child a piece of candy and telling him or her hold it but you cant eat it,so even though the despensaries are nothing more than legalized drug pushers, where ya gonna go? to a street dealer not a bad idea if you know this person, you might even wind up getting a deal if you can use deal in the sense of the word, alas spin one sit back and let the big boys mess it up more,it's time to take my meds have a good one people
