| I think these research doctors know who's buttering their bread. If they gave a favorable result toward not keeping pot illegal than they would not only loose funding from the goverment legal dogs, they would loose their flesh as well. Now if they justify this injustify they get lots of research, money, grants and notoriety. I'm sure these doctor knew from the get go their subject would get antzy if they cut off all that great grade " A " government research pot. I think if one can't see this then the drool needs to be wiped off their chin, dapper changed, sponge bath and place back to bed. I mean really does the power elite really think John Q Public really studip enough to buy this dripple. What they did ! |

| I'm just interested to know when "studies" involving 12 people or less with no control are actually published, ANYWHERE. |

| Thats strange, all the studies I have ever heard of claimed marijuana is completly unaddictive, i go without for days to a week(very rarely) without it and feel no effects. Guess its all in your head, if ya dont think its addictive, its not... |

| if the study is true, then cigs should be prohibited as i type this. considering how sever the withdrawal symptoms are, and how addictive it is. the only thing i agree with is problems with sleeping, and even then its not that bad. pop 2 benadryls and snooze ![]() |

| Since being on probation, I haven't smoked in 114 days. I am unphased. Although, it would be an enjoyable thing to enjoy a joint right about now, I am not about to do so. This study is worthless.

| Part of the reason I smoke marijuana is to control my anger. When I stop smoking for a week or more, I do become more irratible. The little things are really what get to me when I go long without smoking. I guess you could call that a mild addiction. |

| Am I the only one seeing this or what's going on. In the article it says that the people they used were heavy users of both maijuana and cigarettes. Personally I would chalk up those withdrawal effects to the fact they smoke cigarettes. What's happening here, (At least what i think is happening Here), is that its psycological. Because they smoke both. And one of them is very addictive. It becomes a habit to smoking both. Or The brain functions differently when you smoke a cigarette and then pot as opposed to just smoking a cigarrette or pot. The brain gets used to having to work with both THC and nicotine, nicotine being more used, and thusly when either substance is abstained from the brain goes through withdrawal symptoms because the two chemicals are used together so often it seems that they are one chemical and as we all know nicotine is addictive and can cause withdrawal. So when the brain only has nicotine in it, the body thinks that its not getting the drug it wants. Well that just a theory i came up with. Knock it if you want. I just came up with it Last edited by TheDoctor : 02-11-2008 at 09:27 AM. |

| Good point doctor. Addictions can "link" themselves to thinks that aren't as addicting or not as addicting at all. Whenever I try to quit smoking cigarettes, I always have to switch from coffee to tea, for example, because coffee is so strongly linked to cigarettes that I'd get a bad craving at the taste of coffee.

| Are they suggesting tobacco be scheduled class 1 with cannabis? Really though, ask any person that has experienced smoking both cannabis and tobacco on a regular basis, this "study" is bullshit. I've smoked cannabis on a daily basis for well over a decade, many times since then I've stopped smoking, some of those breaks lasted over 6 months for no reason other than I felt like taking a break. Tobacco on the other hand... I've tried with all my will to quite, more than a few times with no success (I've gone half a year without cannabis with no problems whatsoever, two days without a cigarette had me licked though). In fact, I'm coming up on my eighth month without cannabis right now (looking to get some soon ), I haven't been irritable at all since I last toked. Cannabis to me is more of a luxury, tobacco on the other hand is a soul gripping addiction. Unless you're totally obsessed with cannabis, nobody that has and addiction to tobacco would take this article the least bit seriously. |
