Well, my friend recently let me borrow Oblivion because he never plays it anymore and I've gotten pretty far. But now I need some help. It glitched...

Okay so I'm trying to get into the mages guild and for those of you who know the game I gotta to all those damn reccomendation questions which are a pain in the ass.

But for one of them...it glitched. I'm not sure of the title of the quest but you have to go to a well behind one of the Mages Guilds and retrieve the "Ring Of Burden". So..I go down in the well... and theres a green marker indicating where I should go but NOTHINGS THERE! So I do other quests and stuff and come back to it later, still not there!

Anyone ever had this glitch before and know how to fix it?

P.S. I didnt get the update for it yet because I wanted to do some of the money glitches. Do you think that if I downloaded the update it would fix my glitch???

You might have to update your game, have you downloaded the most recent patches?
I have never done the mages guild quests however, so i cant say from experience that ive encountered this glitch, i always stuck to the Dark Brotherhood and unofficial mods and such and theyre not very glitchy lol
but good luck on fixing that

No I didn't get any of the updates yet, I said that in the "P.S." section lol. But thats what I was thinking too that if i get the patches that it might fix the glitch. And hopefully if thats the case then I can postpone my mages guild quest while I get more money from the other glitches.

I think you're just missing something. Maybe it's in a lower corridor or level. When the arrows green it just means the item is in the vicinity. It's not exactly accurate on whether the item is up or down compared to where u are. So somtimes something can be below you on a different level but it looks on the map like you are standing right on it.

I've done the mages guild with no problem. Although, those quests were quite a while ago so I can't exactly help with your certain problem. I really think you're just missing something though.

Nope. there's no other tunnels or anything. Even my friend came over, who's beaten the game like 4 or 5 times and he was like "well thats weird" he said there's supposed to be a skeleton there and then you search the skeleton and take the ring. Ive explored the entire sewer, which isnt very big, and there was nothing there, nothing to open or anything. It's really strange. Hopefully when I download the patches it will fix this glitch. If not, that means I have to start all over .

Did you check the floating body? Can you carry an extra 150 lbs?
