Well technically speaking my xbox just broke, and I blew up...

I was playing some COD4 and I get all these black dots on my screen, so I try pushing in the HDMI cables, and nothing.

So i turn the console off and it comes back on with 1 red light .
At first i didn't know what it meant, then it came up with a message on the screen saying System error 74 contact customer support .

I was fuming, I checked my warranty which as it transpires was out of date, but apparently they are issuing an extended warranty for error 74 aswell as the 3 red rings so hopefully i wont have to give M$$$$$$ any more of my $$$.

I pay the premium for the elite so SHIT like this wont happen.

Why didn't I buy a PS3......

Hopefully get this whole thing sorted out tomorrow. You know you never really understand the fury of the red rings until you get it yourself....

yep PS3 is running just fine.
I was playing some COD4 and i Pressed the PS button then all of a sudden i was watching a Blu Ray disc. damn...

Oh that sucks dude, my friends early xbox 360 has broken like 3 times.

All I can say is try to place it in an area with plenty of open space and air flow

some things that may help

1.all the connection cords are properly secure to the xbox360 and all of hte prongs are on.

2. use canned air(I advise not too huff it) unscrew if wanted and blow the shit out of it.

3.smoke a phatty throw in a movie and just say fuck it

They'll fix your xbox for free man. The Elite is no different than the regular, its hard drive is just bigger. When they fix your xbox, they update the hardware so that it doesnt get the red rings anymore. For the mean time, put a dry towel over your xbox. It stopped mine from getting red rings.

PS3 sucks. I can say that, I have both. Xbox is WAY better.

I got the red rings of death also. Didn't have the warrenty so I had to buy a new one.

I have a freind who has had to send his back twice, the shity thing is they don't renew the warrenty when you get the new one. That just does not make sense to me.

my ps3 broke one time cuz i hulk smashed it after losing a close game of madden online. lucky for me i was covered and just walked into best buy and get a new one. memorys gone forever, but o well, its band new. it also doesnt make any of those weird ass noises i hear comming from different friends 360s. no broken disc trays, or burn outs. o how i love my ps3.

sorry dude, im just fuckin with u. it totally sucks when good things die, trust me, i know. i lost a tv a few months back. it was seriously tuff and i didnt think that night would ever end. now i have two tvs and im super happy everytime i turn them both on. maby u will have the same luck and get 2 xboxes. i hope the best for u.
