Anyone out there do any disc golfing? I was surprised there wasn't already a thread for it. Weather permitting, me and my friends try to get every day, or at least 3 or 4 times a week. It's a blast. Not only are most courses free, but a lot of them are off in parks and nice wooded areas so you can toke pretty much free of worry about getting caught.
Anybody have any favorite courses or discs? Right now, I'm using an Innova Stingray which is okay, but has a tendency to drift off to the right more than I'd always like, and isn't that great in the wind. I also have an Aurora Midrange one that's heavier and flys straighter, but I can't throw all that far. used to have a Gazelle I loved, but I lost it. One of these days I'll have enough cash to go pick up a new driver.
Anyway, enough of my rambling anyone have any opinions on this?

Well, it's basically like regular golf, only you play with frisbees or discs. They're not like regular frisbees, you have to throw them a lot harder to get them to go anywhere, but they can fly a lot farther. Check out www.discgolf.com for more, it's a blast, less expensive than regular golf (most courses are free, discs are from $5-$20) and smoking is fairly accepted. Some head shops even sell discs too. Peace, hope to see you on the course sometime.

Hey man, I absolutely love frisbee golf. I go golfing every sunday morning at Sonoma State, here in Santa Rosa, bout an hour north of San Francisco. It was a tradition started by my dad and his buddies and I got into it the last couple years. I play the old championship course which winds through the campus. We go for natural objects too, (i.e. firehydrants, light poles, garbage cans, a fountain), not baskets.

My favorite disc by far is the Polaris, I think its made by innova. I don't have my Discovering The World catalog on hand for the internet address, drop me an email (Basebal797@aol.com) and I'll send it to you, they have real good deals on discs.

If you're strong, you might think about a JLS, heavier disc (too heavy for me), but I've seen people huck it friggin far. If you're like me, and don't have the technique down perfectly, go for the Polaris, its lighter and I can turn it to the left or right at will.

Drop me an email dude, I could go on for days, I don't come across too many disc golfers.

Cole

I played once a couple of weeks ago and it was fun as hell. My problem is I didn't play close to where I live and there isn't any courses within an hour of where I live.

Default FROLF Rules

Frolf (frisbee golf) is the shiznit! Another crucial game is ultimate frisbee. I rule at ultimate and it is great to play with a bunch of folks.
