| ... stoned or not, is Civilization (and Civ 2). I am still addicted to this game TEN YEARS after I started playing it. There's just something about the randomly generated maps that I can't lose interest in. Plus, reaction time is not an issue in this game. ![]() There was a great 'me-too' game from Microprose called Master of Magic that came out about that time. I went looking for it a few years ago and after searching the web and countless used software stores I found a buddy of mine had it. I burned a copy of his CD and installed it over Win95, but it's really unstable (It wants to run under DOS or 3.1). If it didn't crash randomly every other hour or so I'd say it had what it takes to give the original Civ some heavy competiton for the top. But it doesn't so I won't. I was hoping that Age of Wonders was going to be the update of Master of Magic, but it turned out to be too story-based and thus was not really replayable. Has anyone ever gotten Master of Magic to work properly? |
