Default Canoeing

I love to go canoeing in the fall time. Nothing finer than finding some slow river to go on and enjoy the fall foliage with a friend. Bringing along a joint and just sparking it up when your far enough away to not be bothered.

One of the best times i have ever had in my life was canoeing on a river in connecticut at a camp ground i went to for a weekend. I met some really cool people that summer, and to a 14 year old having any other mode of transport than your parents was just a truely liberating experience.

Being a fan of the earth when i am out there in the wilderness, i feel an enlightened spiritual feeling. I guess i just feel like i belong there like nothing can go wrong.

But anyway is anyone else a fan of canoeing?

Default yes indeed.

I just posted something similar to this after a paddleboat post in another thread. But yes, being on the water (be it canoe, sailboat, paddleboat, tube) is wonderful when sparkin'. Something everyone needs to try.

hehe, yea that reminds me of when i first smoked with my uncle this summer...we went on a canoe ride up by the Napa area and my uncle all of a sudden asks me and my friend, "I brought a little surprise, eh, do you guys smoke pot?". it turns out the mountan man dudes next door up in the hills grow some *very* good pot and we tried it out hehe. We happened to bring our own weed too, indoor chronic directly from Humboldt, and smoked my uncle out with it (he hadn't smoked for about six weeks prior.) LOL we were belly laughin so hard after he smoked it cause he was runnin around the house going "I'M A GenIe!! i'M A GeNiE!! OooOh CArpET!" and wearing it like a cape...lol. there's my ADHD 43-year old uncle for ya.

If you are going to bring up this subject, outdoors is the place to do it. Sweet story, it is great to see people kick back and shake off their molds for a while...

Canoeing is definately one of the coolest things to do outside. Me and my friends go canoeing or hiking about once a month, its the best thing to do with some friends, some free time, and some nice herb.

Cool Who's got the oar?

Canoeing is hella fun while in any state of mind. Blazed is even better, though. Me and my roommate went canoeing with a local university club and took a long 4 hour canoe trip down a river. It was pretty crowded on the river so me and my roommate just blazed ahead of everybody else and after we were sufficiently ahead of everyone we found this rock outcropping and just sat below it and blazed a couple bowls. The next 2 hours of that canoe trip was awesome. We kept hitting stuff (most often not on purpose) and laughing our asses off. Then we got back together with some of the others in the club and had a good time with them. I hope to do some canoeing this summer.

I don't canoe, but I do love whitewater rafting. I realize these two activities are very different, but shut up....they both involve water.

Anyhoo, the talk of stoned canoeing reminded me of this. I went WW rafting Freshman year with a group of people from my school. We went to West Virginia(go there...its awesome). Well, a lot of stoners went on this trip and I had the genius idea of smoking before we went out on the river. This may not be a shock to those of you familiar with whitewater, but I almost died. Really, don't smoke before you go WW rafting. It is way too intense. I was on the raft stoned out of my brain and we got into a class V rapid(one of, if not the highest classes),well I decided that it would be a good idea to take a breather right in the middle of the rapid...so I stopped paddling. Bad idea. The paddling keeps you in the raft, somehow. Anyway, I flew out of the bloody raft and ended up in the water! As I'm trying to figure out how not to die I see that the water is taller than me...oh sh*t, I'm underwater! After about 30 seconds of being drug down the river I realize that I need to pick my feet up so they don't get stuck on a rock underwater. Right as I do this...SMACK!! I crash(feet first, luckily) into a huge F'N boulder. Luckily, it bounced me into the side of my raft. The guide pulled me out of the water and I sat in the back of the raft freaking out. We got to the place where we were going to have lunch and I got out and sat down just listening to my heart beat. I tried to smoke a cigarette, but my hands were shaking too hard. Scariest bloody thing I've ever done. Not that I have to tell you, but that seriously killed my buzz!

Funny thing is I have the whole ordeal on videotape.

I used to live in Michigan, and there is a lake like every 7 miles or something. Me and my friends always used to go out on canoes and kayaks and get all baked. The sparkle of the sun on the water, and the little splashes while youre all isolated, just a part of nature, not many things can make you feel as good as that.

Have you ever smoked a joint in a canoe, it's fun. I wouldn't recomend having sex in a canoe though.

And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?"
