| I had a chance to peruse this new gem at my friends house today. Overall its a great game, the new ps2 graphics make it beautiful, the gameplay is still as good as the others, and of course there are new players, levels and specials you can unlock. A new thing that is kind of hard to get used to though is the meter for grinding. Unlike thps1 and thps2 where you just judge your characters balance by their leaning alone now there is a meter that pops up when you start to grind something. It takes awhile to get used to but once you do it becomes quite the asset when linking huge grind trick combonations. Speaking of linking tricks a new link has been added for when your coming down a halfpipe called a revert. The revert allows you to regain your stunt where you left off, unlike thps1 and thps2 where once you went up your trick is done. This allows for some crazy link combos, which allows for you to utilize all of your specials. The create a skater mode is a lot better looking, and now you can have up to 9 special tricks, if you unlock them with your character. And now with sonys new technology on the ps2 you can buy a modem or hook your ps2 up to an ethernet card and go online to gaming servers where you can play other people with thps3. Pretty rad eh? And also Bam Margera from Mtv's Jackass is in it, and he has some awesome moves, like the human dart grind. I give this game a definite 10, and suggest all those with a ps2 to purchase it or beg for it for christmas :P Cleric![]() |

| I just bought THPS3 and Grand Theft Auto 3 for PS2. Simply put, the two best games for any system that i have bought. Both of them are like extremely entertaining. Overall GTA3 > Tony Hawk

| Ha yeah both of them are great, I finally got to create a guy last night at my friends house, his name is Fuggin Pirate, cause he is a pirate, hat and eye patch and all. Its pretty damn rad the create a skater is far superios to all the games. Also new thing i found out last night, when doing a manual you can hit r2 and do a pivot, it throws off your manual balance but can seriously add some points to your score when thrown in to the end of an incredibly long combo. I hope my roomate gets a ps2 and thps3 so i can play this game more often, thps2 is just not the same after i have played this one! Cleric![]() |

| The thing about Tony Hawk 3 is that it is more realistic. You won't be pulling off moves that you could do on 1 and 2. The multiplayer option is a definate bonus. And the selection of background music is much better. Does anyone know if there is a way to load your own background music? That would be awesome. P.S. I just went on a minor posting fenzy so I could reach 30 and become a "Member"! YES!

| mbdanks: naw, i don't agree at all. i played tony hawk 3 for like 10 minutes, got the hang of it again and started busting out 100,000+ point combos. i don't think it's too much more realistic when it comes to tricks. when it comes to graphics, textures, skaters, bails, then yeah, it is alot more realistic. also, the music isn't really any better. there's like 2 songs in the whole game that i like (xzibit - paparazzi & del - if you must), but all the other ones just get f*cken annoying after you play the game for like half an hour. personally i liked the music better in tony hawk 2 (except for that papa roach song, man... that song sucks).

| i played this game yesturday for like 6 hours straight!! But i cant do those huge combos you guys talk about, the max i get on a single move is about 15-20,000. My friend that had tony 2 can do some crazy moves! Like when i grind i cant do any moves or i'll fall, so i always grind to the end on a sinlge move. And when i try to make something cool i always fall on my ass or my head. The soundtrack is good, but after listening to "fight like a brave" and "bliktzerig bop" 50 times i got tired of it, now we turn the soundtrack off and play a cd on the stereo ![]()
