| My early picks for the Cup - Red Wings over the Flyers. I don't have a conversation starter, but let us discuss hockey. | |

| Right now now I'm going to have to agree w/ deadhed. Unless the Avalanche are able to get Forsberg back before the playoffs, the Red Wings are gonna be tough to beat.

| You honestly think that the Red Wings will still be ALIVE, let alone playing well when June rolls around? The average age on that team is like 38, they will wear down and will be fourth seed if they are lucky. I don't see them getting past the second round, they'll get dumped by either the Blues, Sharks, or Oilers. All three teams I just mentioned are young, skilled, and in position to make a run for the Western Conference spot in the Cup Finals. In the East I think either the Maple Leafs or Philly goes all the way. Are there any other decent teams in the East? Don't give me that Bruins bullsh*t, they don't have what it takes to make a long run to the playoffs. I see them going out in the first round to either the top seed or second seed. Before I get bashed for being biased(I really do hate the Wings), I'm going on what I have read/heard/seen. This isn't my opinion, it's the opinions of those who claim to be experts. If you actually think that Brett Hull can make a playoff run, you need to get your head examined. The man looks like he's 50. Shanahan, and Yzerman cannot carry that team through the playoffs. Even the two of them show signs of age. Hasek is overrated at best. Never won a Cup, even though he had some teams in Buffalo that should have won. He's not what everyone thinks and is a distant fourth in the "top" goalie standings. Brodeur, Joseph, Roy are all much better than the "Dominator". A case could be made that Belfour is better than Hasek as well. I'm done ranting. My pick for the Cup Finals, Flyers over Blues in seven.

| Naw, don't think so. Hasek was the ONLY thing that kept the Sabres from being a chump team for quite a while, I was shocked he stayed so long. But yes, everyone knows that the Wings are going to show their age come playoff time, I'm hoping they can pull it off but it's going to be tough. And watch that Khabibulin! Amazing performance thus far in the olympics, that's the stuff Lord Stanley's Cup is made of. | |

| What big trades do you think will be pulled off before the deadline? This is the first year in recent memory that I can't think of any HUGE ones. You guys/gals have any idea? The only thing I see on the horizon is Richter coming to the Blues. That deal should have happened last year, but I'm fairly certain it will get done this time around. Watch for the Blues to put a late run together to at least get up to the fourth seed. Chicago doesn't have the team to win in the playoffs or even to keep winning in the regular season(unless they are lucky). The Blues will overtake them shortly, however Detroit may be too far ahead to be caught. Time will tell. |
