Cool I disagree

Doing commentary is not hard at all. I want to be a play by play man for hockey sometime in the future and I tape myself giving play by play with the sound down on every Blues game. I also tape the game, and then I go back and listen to see where I screwed up and try to get better the next time. I'm better than the play by play man that the Blues have now(whatever his name is). The only good thing he does is right before commercial he'll say "this is St. Louis BLUES hockey". The way that he stretches out the word Blues for some reason has always been cool at least in my opinion.

Now, color commentary is hard as sh*t. You have to be interesting for 3 hours of live TV. It ain't easy. I have respect for John Madden because of what he did as a coach, not as an announcer. Personally, I listen to the local radio guys for Rams games. They are much better....plus I like hearing the Rams biased reports(hey, I'm a Rams fan...sue me!).

Alright, I'm done talking because no one cares anymore. If anyone did when they clicked on this thread, I have talked them into a coma.

From that deep in their own territory it was a major risk to throw the ball, yet Belichick rolled the dice and the gamble paid off. John Madden would've said the same thing had it been the Rams going the other direction because he doesn't favor one team over another, he commentates on the game/play at hand
It was pretty risky to throw the ball, but I should point out that the Pats were controlling the Rams the entire game right up to the end where the Rams started to get it together and make the adjustments. I think, like B-chick, that he stood a better chance of taking immediate action than go to OT and risk the Rams getting the ball back immediately...where they could drive the field rather quickly when they are at their game. His vision to take the risk based on this is what he'll be remembered for. IMHO.

About Madden.... he called almost every game for the Rams this year... so it's tough for me to think he isn't somewhat biased. I do think he would have said the same about the Rams given the same situation, but given the momentum and dynamics of the Rams, I think that would have been a smart move for the Rams.

My bias is clear though. Saints and Rams have had a hot rivalry the last two years... Pats winning it all meant my ears and eyes got a break from Rams fans rubbing it in.
