For the first time ever with NBA players, the US national basketball team has been defeated. They lost to Argentina 87-80.

If only Argentina could have pulled off a win this big in the world cup.

I was watching the game with my g/f last night and the US team didnt look focused at all.They werent playing as a team like Argentina was.Whats even more messed up is the game wouldve been closer if the US wouldve made the gimme shots (lay-ups,shots close to the hoop).I guess thats what you get when you have a team full of NBA Players that dont normally play together.

I really wish Phil Jackson (my favorite NBA Coach) had taken the reigns of the US team instead of George Karl. He would have lead them to an easy championship.

There's really no excuse for losing 2 games when your talent level is so far ahead of the competetion..

the US players have been shocked. they rightly showed up and expected to be basically handed the World Championship, hell, why wouldn't they? they've had virtually no competition before, so why would they now? i guess it's time for them to step up and realize they're no Dream Team. they've definitely got the potential, let's see if they use it in the rest of the tournament.

I have some hope for American futbol, last World Cup we showed that we're not complete chumps at the worlds international pasttime. Just remember that unlike other countries where futbol is played with a religous fevor, that most kids in this country are all about baseball, football, and basketball. If American atheletes had been playing futbol since they could walk we would field one hell of a team.
