So the playoffs start today.

Who are you guys rooting for and who do you think will win the world series? Personally, I am rooting for the Giants, got to stick with the national league. However, I think that Oakland will win the world series. Hudson - Mulder - Zito will be unstopable.

I haven't really followed baseball since the A's played the Giants in the world series and it was interrupted with a rather large earthquake. If both these teams make it in again, I'll watch the world series. Ya know... just incase of a little shakey-shakey...

I'm rooting for the Minisota Twins to go all the way. Will they do it? Probally not. But it would be a great story to see a team that Bud wanted to contract before the season started to go all the way.
As for the other teams, anybody but the Yankees and the Braves.

The Yankees are out, hahahahahahahaha. And the Minsota Twins have advanced to the ALCS and will play the Angels, so no matter who wins I'll be happy.
Now if only the Giants will beat Braves and I will be really happy.

I talked to a friend yesterday who came up with an extremely paranoid theory. Apparently, the last time we went to war with Iraq in 91, there was some sort of major sporting event where the team's colors are red, white, and blue. He thinks that the world series this year will coinside with the war, and that it will be the twins vs. the braves. The twins would represent the twin towers and our nation by almost being dismantled and then going on to the world series... the braves would represent our brave fighters in the military... and supposedly both these teams have red white and blue on their uniforms.
*removes tin-foil hat*

Well Shamen I beleive the Angels have those colors so your theory may be correct. But as for back in 91 I know the bills went to the Super Bowl that year, and their colors are red white and blue. But they also got stomped that year by the Cowboys. So who knows.
